The Embrace Of Illiteracy As Traditional Value In Africa

Female circumcision

A traumatized woman after circumcision

Africa is a vast continent filled with varieties of customs, traditions, cultures and languages. Some of these outdated traditions and customs are seen as senseless, useless, valueless, illiteracy and complete ignorance.

Female Circumcision: It is estimated that about 140 million girls and women worldwide are currently living with disastrous effects of female circumcision. Horrific procedures have severely traumatized and psychologically affected thousands of women. Female circumcision is practiced in 26 countries across Africa.

In the Republic of Sierra Leone, an ethnic group called “The Bondo Society” still carries this outdated tradition. Gambia launched a three-year program aimed to abolish Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Female circumcision is the number one on my list as illiteracy taken as traditional or custom.

Tribal deformity in Nigeria

Horrible tribal marks of a Yoruba woman

Horrible tribal marks in Nigeria: In the olden days, tribal marks were used as identification, especially in Yoruba lands, such as Ogun, Oyo, Ondo States, and Benin. Should in case something happens to you, your tribal marks would help to identify the tribe you originate or where you come from. The illiteracy behind this barbarous act has disfigured the face of thousands of Nigerians.

Some of the marks are so horrible that they attract people and gossip. Some women have to live with it for the rest of their lives without husbands.  Time changes as we step into the world of technology and development. Disfiguring of the face as tribal marks is gradually fading away or completely stopped in many places thought out the country.

In South Africa, is a relatively landlocked country called Swaziland. The king of the country, Mswati III has 14 wives. This illiteracy which had been in existence for years is followed as a tradition.

The 46-year old monarch has ruled over Swaziland, which is on the brink of economic disaster for 28 years. He can’t even solve the problems of 40 per cent of Swazis that are unemployed, the country’s highest HIV infection rate per capita in the world, and the life expectancy of 46 years among the world’s lowest, yet at every annual reed dance, the king takes the opportunity to take a new wife. Is this king ignorant, serious or a joker?

Illiteracy swapped as a custom

He recently married a girl of fifteen. Apart from the continued abuse of young girls, the king’s  wealth includes  expensive cars (fleets of top-of-the-range Mercedes and BMW cars, at least one Rolls-Royce and a $500,000 Daimler Chrysler flagship Maybach 62) and the private jet ($17 million), while the citizens wallow in poverty. This money can be invested into education and health care to develop his country. Have you seen how stupid and ignorant some of these African leaders are?

Illiteracy swapped as a traditional value

Ignorance or illiteracy? Swaziland King Mswati III has made Africa a laughing stock in the eyes of the Advanced World.

When Asia is making headlines around the world, it’s about business, but in the case of Africa, it’s about poverty, corruption, war, conflicts and such stupid traditions and customs, draining Africa’s coffers and under-developing Africa. I have said this and I will repeat once again “If African leaders want the Advanced World to respect them, they should show a little intelligence and maturity because they underestimate and laugh at Africa.

Poverty Is A Tool Used To Sustain Crime

Poverty is a tool used to sustain crime

What’s this little boy thinking about this European? Are they coming to give us another disease after Aids and Ebola?

“Tell me the truth, I hope you are not bringing in any new disease, after Aids, Ebola and Lassa Fever.”

Not everyone is interested in lies, hypocrisy and crime, the reason my blog has been one of the successful blogs, attracting readers worldwide from over 185 countries.

With the Dutch Micro-Surgeon and scientist, Johan Van Dongen, we shall continue to profit from the weakness and incompetence of the foreign media, (Europe and America) to give the general public hungry for the truth over Aids and Ebola.

We are putting on the Armour of truth, just like last year, without changing our identities and style of writing. Those so-called super powers, World Health Organization and Center for Diseases Control, fighting hard to cover up those medical crimes in Africa, should bow their heads in shame and ask God for forgiveness, if African leaders are weak, scared and failed to deal with the issue.

There are so many organizations worldwide, fighting to alleviate poverty. Poverty stricken countries appreciate their efforts and will continue to give them every necessary support they deserve, yet it needs to be said, that effort is like going to the river side with a basket to fetch some water. It’s a total waste of time and energy.

Poverty alleviation is a dream of illusion. It’s only a poor man’s hope. The so-called super powers wouldn’t let it happen. How can the corrupt Europe and America pharmaceutical companies profit from man-made diseases plagued on Africans to sustain their economies?

If Africa becomes like any of those advanced continents, where would America and Europe turn to, when ready to find people to use as Guinea pigs, to test those manufactured contaminated and diseased drugs?

In the eighties, some people, including famous celebrities were diagnosed with HIV. Many are still living today, while millions of HIV patients from 1980 have perished and continue perishing. This is enough evidence that the drugs sent to Africa for HIV/AIDS patients are either fake or contaminated to increase the plight of Africans.

Another evidence is that the corrupt Europe and America pharmaceutical companies established this plan to make a profit out of Africa’s misery. It will be recalled that last year Micro-Surgeon Johan Van Dongen published an article entitled

“Any African HIV Patient That Swallows AZT Tablet, Is A Lunatic” as a warning to African leaders. Reference: https://goo.gl/qXE2SC

Both the European and American governments are secretly at war with anyone who tries to ruin the profit-oriented pharmaceutical companies since it’s the lifeblood sustaining the economies. This is the reason Dr. Jeff Bradstreet was killed, just some few days after publishing a research based on the claim that vaccines caused autism.

Just like always, the European and American media covered up the crime relating to his death and published that he was found in an apparent suicide, and died of what seems to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his chest when there wasn’t evidence that Dr. Bradstreet had any suicidal tendencies.

Following the mysterious death of Dr. Bradstreet, Micro-Surgeon Dongen published this article:

The corrupt pharmaceutical companies

Dr. Jeff Bradstreet was murdered for opposing autism-vaccine because the corrupt pharmaceutical companies consider him a threat to ruin business

Donald Trump: Why Aren’t You Killed Like Jeffrey Bradstreet Or Other Opponents Of Vaccinations Which Not Only Cause Autism But Also Aids And Ebola? https://goo.gl/v6WRFN

Living in such a world that cares about money than the welfare and health of people is very dangerous. Poverty is indeed a tool used to sustain crime. Some of the police and judges are paid from crime and cheap labor rendered to the government institutions, from criminals thrown into jail. Do you expect this to end poverty? Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Jimmy Cliff’s Inspirational ‘Dear Mother’ Lyrics

Cliff 2Jimmy Cliff’s classic album: Follow My Mind.

Apart from Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Toots & The Maytals, John Holt, Desmond Decker etc, and other early Jamaican musicians that provided a solid foundation for the reggae music, Jimmy Cliff is one of the  musical legends that rose to international stardom with uncountable hits and numerous albums.

In this article, it’s not my intention to write about Jimmy Cliff’s biography or achievements in the field of music, since there are hundreds of articles about this great musician and perfect gentleman appointed ‘Peace Ambassador’ by the United Nations, but to share some of his inspiring lyrics.

In 1976, Jimmy Cliff came out with one of his masterpiece albums entitled ‘Follow My Mind.’ On this album were “I’m Gonna Live, I’m Gonna Love, Dear Mother, Remake The World, Wahjahka Man, Going Mad, You’re The Only One, If I follow My Mind, Look At The Mountains, No Woman No Cry, Who Feels It Knows It and Hypocrites.”

One of my favorite songs on this album which sold worldwide is “Dear Mother.” From generation to generation, the lyrics of this great song continue to inspire me, to love my mother more and more, since she still lives, after losing my father when he was just 43. Below  is the lyric of Jimmy Cliff’s ‘Dear Mother.’ Enjoy Jimmy Cliff’s great tunes and golden voice in his film The Harder They Come.’

Dear Mother

Do you have a dear mother

Kind, devoted and true
Dear mother I’m sending to you
Best wishes and all the day through
May your days be cloudless and clear
Bringing to you true happiness each day and night of the year

She’s my mother
And I love her so
More than any other
Anywhere I go

Do you have a dear mother
Kind, devoted and true
Dear mother may all that is fair
Come to you right through the year
While I was a child you were my god
You were always dear to me and always were by my side

She’s my mother
And I love her so, yes I do
More than any other
Anywhere I go

Do you have a dear mother
So devoted and true
Dear mother I’m sending to you
Best wishes and all the day through
May your days be cloudless and clear
Bringing to you true happiness each day and night of the year

She’s my mother
And I love her so, yes I do
More than any other
Anywhere I go, talking ’bout my mother

She’s my mother
And I love her so
More than any other, woman in this world
Anywhere I go

She’s my mother

The Reason Beauty Contest Needs To Be Abolished

Contest

The concept of life is reality, thus, woman’s creation is a symbol of crown, dignity, honour and beauty. Women are therefore special. I believe the same way every woman see herself or feels.

Worldwide, every year, young women are paraded on the podium to search for the most beautiful woman in the world. The question: “Is holding of yearly beauty contest necessary?” What is beauty? Is it the mind, from the heart or the face?

There are so many women physically disfigured, through some sort of illness or naturally born with deformity or handicap, that may feel somehow psychologically depressed or rejected in the society, when they watch things like “Beauty Contests.” Besides ‘Beauty Contests’ lowers the confidence and self esteem of many women facing obstacles in life.

The birth of modern technology and scientists, have provided comfort for human beings, in different fields, including medical. Apart from incubators and other equipment that save lives, no doctor or scientist has been able to put breath in a dead man’s nostrils to bring him back to life. So why should a panel of judges sit down to classify one as beautiful and the other ugly? However a woman looks like, she needs respect and acceptance in the society.

In my own opinion “Beauty Contest” is meaningless. It should be abolished. The late Princess Diana was one of the most prettiest women who ever lived, but according to British newspapers, she was a woman suffering in silence before her untimely death.

If beauty had played important role in her life, and had given her all the happiness she was looking for, from her wayward husband, Prince Charles, she might be alive today.

Why Do Some People Risk It All To Cheat To Be Famous?

Johnson 5Cyclist Lance Armstrong, athlete Ben Johnson and author E.J. Ellory, deceived the world to the top, before their cups were full.

Do you feel restless and uneasy at times, because you want to achieve something but you feel lacking behind? Do you feel scared of failure in whatever you want to achieve in life sometimes, because things are not moving in your favour? Do you feel stagnant without progress in whatever project you are handling? It is part of life since people are passionate about things and as human beings we are likely to feel this way sometimes.

The question is: When engulfed in such times of uncertainty and fear, how do we handle it? People are dying to be famous. In pursuit of fame and success many take certain short routes which put them into shameful situations they have to live with it for the rest of their lives. No easy way to success. Success usually comes through hard work and sacrifice but why do some people prefer to cheat?

Ben Johnson

In 1988, Ben ‘The Bullet’ Johnson recorded one of the fastest times in athletic history in Seoul Olympic Games, after winning 100m gold medal.   The Canadian was stripped of his 100m gold medal after testing positive for drugs. Johnson claimed that herbal drink he consumed before the race caused his downfall, but the Olympic Committee didn’t accept this.

Samples of Johnson’s urine were tested for drugs immediately the third day after the 100m final which he won in a world record time of 9.79 seconds. Olympic officials confirmed that traces of the anabolic steroid, Stanozol, were found in his system. “A tragedy for Johnson and a great sadness for all Canadians,” said Canada’s Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

Ben Johnson’s drug scandal was neither the first nor the last. Many athletes failed drug tests, including Marion Jones, who used banned substances.

Lance Armstrong has hundreds of fans worldwide, because great people inspire others. At the peak of his successful career, he placed eleventh in the World Championship Road Race with the best time of any American since 1976. From 1999 to 2005, Lance Armstrong consecutively won seven Tour de France titles, giving hope to other cancer patients as a cancer survivor. After a successful career, the US Anti-Doping Agency stripped him of his seven tour titles he had won and banned him from competing in cycling for life.

According to the Anti-Doping Agency, Lance Armstrong had used banned performance enhancing substances during the years of his career. Armstrong prior has vehemently denied the claims until January 2013, admitted to doping throughout his entire cycling career., leaving his fans miserably disappointed, as he steps down as chairman of the Livestrong cancer-awareness charity he founded. What a sad situation Armstrong and family have to live with entire lives?

E.J. Ellory admitted using fake identities to write about his work on Amazon. He writes glowing reviews for his own books, giving himself five-star ratings and slamming his competitors’ books. Why an author in the caliber of Ellory chose to live like that without any guilty conscience, while simultaneously criticising his rivals? “The earth provides much to satisfy every man’s need but not to satisfy every man’s greed,” great quote from Mahatma Gandhi.

While cheating is fundamental and part of human behavior many will do it. However, wickedness, evil, cheating and every negative activities men apply to enhance careers, would prevail but only for a little while. When the cup is full they shall be exposed.  Whoever thought R J Ellory, one of British leading authors will fake reviews?  The Birmingham based author, whose novels have sold more than a million copies admitted to cheating.

I don’t blame any of these men, for deceive the public. We are in a society many competing against others, so people are desperate to do anything which could take them to the top. We are in a world if one doesn’t come on television or radio; you are seen as nobody. Many feel comfortable with that but others can’t stand it, that’s where the cheating starts.

If people would take some few minutes to think of some wise proverbs and quotes, they would have saved themselves from disgrace. Yes! “God’s time is the best,” wait patiently and work hard for that success. Again, whatever one sows in life, the same he will reap and so whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. Finally, “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” – Abraham Lincoln.

Babies: Those Who Want Can’t Get And Those Who Get Don’t Want

Unwanted

Unwanted baby deposited in a baby box.

Once I visited a Belgian couple in the neighborhood of Antwerp. They are married for many years and both are in their forties. They dearly love each other and many times, I study the way Peter treats his wife, kindly, gently and respectfully. “Joel, hold a woman like an egg, because when it breaks, you can’t pick it up, you will only miss your water when your well runs dry,” Peter once told me.

I do ask questions, especially when very close to someone. “Peter, you don’t like children,” I said. “I married to have children, but we never had one. I’ve tried everything without success, “said Peter. “After everything failed, did you ask from God,” I asked. “If there is God, then he might be a very wicked God,” said Peter.

I realized the pain and heartache of Peter. His comments are enough to know how dear baby means to him, but frankly speaking, when one seeks God, God will also seek you. His wife couldn’t bring forth a baby and now he hates God for that. It’s not only Peter and his wife facing this bitter experience. Worldwide, there are thousands of women looking for children without success.

Some have spent thousands of dollars just to be pregnant all to no avail. Many are sad in their matrimonial homes, because the child they are longing for never comes. Thousands of women are desperate looking for babies. Without any hope of having own their babies, some adopt children, yet thousands of babies are killed daily through abortion, strangulation and abandonment.

Some mothers are so cruel that one finds it difficult to believe what they did to their own babies, The question is, why babies often end up in the hands of women who don’t want them, when someone else is looking for one without success? Couple of months ago, a woman from New Jersey was arrested and charged with murder for allegedly putting her newborn baby in the middle of the road and setting the infant on fire.

Innocent babies are being dumped in toilets, bushes, roadsides, gutters etc, without any pity or remorse. The need to do more to help mothers with unwanted babies is necessary. Governments worldwide should also find a solution to avoid abandoned babies, because society wouldn’t accept this kind of cruelty. Germany has already found a solution to discourage abandoning of babies, by providing baby bank.

Lee Jong-rak , a pastor in South Korea, saw a devastating problem in the amount of abandoned babies left to die on the streets. He organized a “Baby Drop Box” where unwanted babies are deposited in a box, saving thousands of babies who would have been left on the streets or abandoned to die. Life is precious, people should stop killing babies.

African Children Exposed to Violence, Brutality and Victimization

Brutal 1

What a shame? A defenseless African child being beaten by ‘law enforcement’ agents

There are problems brewing in Africa against children, that need attention. Africa is not only known for its rich mineral resources but one of the brutal continents in the world. Lack of education and corruption have weakened the continent’s economic infrastructure without remedy. The result is often ethnic conflicts, political unrest, crime, and brutality against children.

If children are not forced into child labour and soldier, they become victims of political unrest and abuse.  It is estimated that tens of millions of children worldwide are street children, according to UNICEF. For example, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, over 100,000 homeless children can be found living on the streets.

Neglected, unwanted, abused and many as orphans, children get entangled in African conflicts they didn’t call for. They are beaten mercilessly by adults, while the so-called head of states, sit without any efforts to save or help the children, all because Africa’s politics is not for the people but for greed and corruption.

It’s normal for every country to have a leader, that’s the reason we have world leaders, but if one sees the problems children pass through in certain countries, including African countries, you may wonder if that country has a leader. Without proper care, many street children turn to glue sniffing, affecting their health badly, while many become juvenile criminals.

Years after independence, despite all the abundant resources, many African countries still wallow in poverty, feeding on a bread of sorrow. State funds are secretly deposited at Swiss banks, while the common Africans, including children, continue to suffer, due to poor educational and health facilities.

Deng Xiaoping

Deng Xiaoping, the ex-Chinese leader, once said “We should give Africa technological know-how, so that African governments can transform their resources on the spot and create jobs and markets for their people locally, regionally, at the continental level and internationally.

Africa must cease to be forever the provider of raw materials to other people. Africans must never sell their land. They should say no to land grabbing by big agro-business multinational companies that displace African natives.”

This great statement towards Africa’s development was made years back when China was crawling like a baby learning how to walk. Today China is rubbing shoulders with great countries including America and Japan, leaving Africa far behind.

If Africa can’t do it today, they can never do it tomorrow, because, for ages, we are like fools, living in abundance of water, yet we are still thirsty.
