The Mystery Of Creation And Death

Who are we and where did we come from? With different kinds of people, languages, customs, cultures etc, many questions about creation remain unanswered.

What about death? That is more complicated than creation because many have different theories and opinions about death. Some say that the soul goes back to God after death while others believe in reincarnation, that is the soul, upon death of the body, comes back to earth in another body or form.

However, the Bible says:  “For the living  know they will die but the dead do not know anything nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten.  Indeed, their love, their hate, and their zeal have already perished, and they will no longer have a share in all that is done under the sun…”

The book of Genesis says: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Initially, that was what we were thought at school. Years after this Biblical account, man now faces the most difficult challenge in believing this Biblical account about creation.

Worldwide, hundreds of people, including so-called creationists, anti-Christ forces, and fundamentalists, continue to change the Bible’s account of creation into numerous tales that deviate from what the Bible really says.

The belief that there is no God and Darwin’s theory which rejects the account of creation in Genesis, have caused many people to dismiss the Bible account as mythical allegory. It’s not surprised to see big churches throughout Europe virtually empty on Sundays, reserved only for the dead to receive his or her last respect  before burial.

It’s clear that a number of people have accepted Darwin’s theory than the Biblical account as many churches are being converted to drinking pubs, restaurants, and library.  Even though many still  are confused over where man originally came from, some continue to play God by taking someone’s life by euthanasia, when he can’t bring the dead back to life.

Since God has given man the opportunity to choose, thus; let those that lean on Darwin’s theory continue to do so and others that believe in the Genesis creation account also continue supporting the Scriptures. But one question which many find it hard to answer  is:Where do we go after death?

Different religions have different opinions about death, yet another part of the Bible reveals: “For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope; surely a live dog is better than a dead lion.”

Both creations of the human being and death will always remain a mystery because it’s something that takes us by surprise. One may cheat death, yet death is inevitable. When it strikes, like the fall of both fresh and dry leaves, it takes away the young and the old.

Doctors struggle to save lives and incubators save babies, but why no one has brought a dead man back to life? Is it true that there is life after death? Where does the soul goes after death? Is there reincarnation after death? Are we going to see our loved ones already dead when we also die?

Even though I have no answers to those questions, I can’t depend on Darwin’s theory, because it has no roots. Since the Scripture says: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” I will depend on and believe in the account of creation in the book of Genesis.

Be Yourself No Matter What They Say

JelousyConstant jealousy makes one very ugly, when actually you are beautiful.

One thing about life is, whatever you do, people will always gossip, criticize or talk about you. Someone can hate you, because you are good in something, someone can hate you, because of your religion, someone can hate you, because of the color of your skin, someone can hate you, because of your sexual preference, above someone can hate for being honest.

In whatever situation you may find yourself, just be yourself, no matter what they say. Unfortunately, many can’t stand hatred, so they quickly throw in the towel, to please those brood of vipers intimidating and terrorizing them. That’s a big mistake. Never try to please anyone in life, because greed doesn’t allow people to be satisfied in life.

Life is very hard. The only people who really live are those who are harder than life itself,”  says Egyptian author Nawal El Sadaawi. Would you succumb to alcohol because the problems are too tough to handle? Or will live in perpetual darkness and depression because someone hates you?

There is only one medicine that heals and kills your enemy. That is laughter. Apart from being good for your health, your enemy cries when he sees you laughing. Remember in life, never ever try to please anyone. Kindness is very good, but please avoid too much kindness, because some kindness may give you a lot of worries.

With each year passing, the world is becoming increasingly dangerous, overrun with dishonest politicians, hypocrites and criminals. Everyone has the right to choose his own destiny. If you want to be one of them, you can join them, but please don’t hate anyone because he wants to live true, clean and pure, else you’ll damage your health with hatred and jealousy.

Authors In Arms: Meeting Writer Femi Akomolafe

I have read uncountable books by European and America authors, but as an African writer, I love also the books of African writers, because they give accurate accounts of what Africans went through during the colonial era and the destruction of the continent by Europeans, since only few European and American writers are brave enough to give the right account of whatever crime they committed on that continent.

One of the African writers whose work caught my attention is the Nigerian author, Femi Akomolafe. His books on Africa are – Africa: It shall be well and Africa: Destroyed by the gods. His contemporary works include colonisation, religion and slavery in Africa.

During my recent visit to Ghana, I took the opportunity to visit him at his residence in Kasoa, a community which lies in the central region of Ghana, but close to Accra.

A passionate Pan-Africanist, Femi writes as a columnist for the Accra-based Daily Dispatch newspaper. The globetrotter Femi lives in both Europe and Africa.

His extensive work reflects on Africa-related issues in his books and for various newspapers and magazines. He was the producer of the FOCUS ON AFRICANS TV Interview programme for the MultiTV Station.

The knowledge of a writer is from his books: Akomolafe’s collection.

He is also the CEO of Alaye Dot Biz Limited Dot Biz, a Kasoa-based Multimedia organisation that specializes in Audio and Video Production. Despite his busy activities, Femi always has some time to be with family.

At his residence, I was fascinated about his huge number of books, stacked on a temporary constructed shelves, after losing almost all his property in flood. Our conversation centered on his works and what he has in store in the near future. Femi has interviewed many people from all walks of life.

You can explore more of his works on “Alaye Web Television.” – http://alaye.biz/videoscategory/focus-on-africans/

Is Ghana’s Obinim Among The Many False Prophets That Will Arise and Deceive People?

Obinim 4The founder of International God’s Way Church, Daniel Obinim, claims has powers to heal.

“Cast thy bread upon the waters, for thou shalt find it after many days and bring one-tenth of your income into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this way,” says the Lord of Armies. “See if I won’t open the windows of heaven for you and flood you with blessings.”

These are some of the Biblical quotations that have inspired and generated a chain of fake pastors, churches, prophets and bishops, deceiving the people continually around the world.

Has God’s house becomes a den of thieves, criminals, cheats, adulterers, fornicators and lairs in Ghana? Ghana is known to be one of the most peaceful and God loving countries in West Africa, with a number of mosques and churches. But the sudden rapid increase of mushroom churches through out the nation, demands if the church truly cares about the poor, the afflicted and those with diverse problems or an institution of profit oriented business.

In my recent visit to Ghana, there is no place I freely passed, without seeing an advert or post boards of pastors, bishops and prophets, which reminded me of one of the prophesies of Jesus Christ: “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:4-5, King James Version.

Among a multitude of pastors in Ghana, is one called ‘Bishop’ Daniel Obinim, who claims has powers to heal and heads a church known as ‘International God’s Way Church. Ghanaians are very intelligent people, yet I couldn’t find the reason many people have lost their intelligence to follow someone called Daniel Obinim, even when he kowtowed so low to sleep with one of his associate pastor’s wives, one that claims of healing an impotent man by holding his penis and stomping a pregnant’s woman’s belly, during church service, talks of her wife’s vagina and involving in other deceitful acts.

What has happened to Ghana, this great nation? On the television, I couldn’t believe my ears, Obinim tells the congregation that he has powers to visit people in their dreams, when the great redeemer or messiah, Jesus Christ, who the storm obeys his voice, didn’t even visit any of his followers, whether dead or alive in their dreams.

It’s a fact that some people are using God’s name to steal, confuse, cheat and sleep with members of the church. Is Obinim one of them? Is Bishop and Prophet now titles everyone that claims serving God can confer on himself? The need to ask this question is necessary, because the prophets and bishops in Ghana are now too numerous to count, when the Bible gives reference to few people as major and minor prophets.

Jesus Christ suffered all kinds of persecution but never insulted or cursed anyone. He was oppressed and afflicted and like a lamb, he was led to the slaughter, without opening his mouth, yet Obinim who claims his powers were given to him by Jesus, on national television, insults and uses profane words on anyone that challenges his claims, including former head of state, John Jerry Rawlings. How can Ghanaians take such a person serious to generate such multitudes of followers? Something is wrong in Ghana.

Opinion

In the time of the apostles, there was a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people. When the apostles were being mistreated, he stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while.

He said to them, “Men of Israel, take care what you propose to do with these men. For some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a group of about four hundred men joined up with him. But he was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census and drew away some people after him; he too perished, and all those who followed him were scattered.”

“Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great; and they all, from smallest to greatest, were giving attention to him, saying, “This man is what is called the Great Power of God.” Unfortunately, he also perished.

Standing on Gamaliel’s words, if Daniel Obinim claims that his powers were from God or Jesus, then he will surely survive, but if they are demonic, magic, occultism or voodoo, then Ghanaians will live to see the painful and disgraceful end of all fake pastors, for misusing God’s name to exploit their ignorant followers.

Poetry Enriches The Human Soul, As It Nurtures Love

rainbowBy Walter William Safar

Poetry enriches the human soul, as it nurtures love, compassion, freedom and faith in people. I don’t know much about victories, but I am sure of one thing, that compassion is a victory of the human spirit. Yes, I consider myself to be lucky to share my poetry with everyone regardless of race or religion, because anyone’s tears are the same color, as well as an honest smile.

There is hope in me that you shall become my brothers in art, in terms of literature and compassion. Let it be the beginning of a wonderful friendship that shall be linked through small mercies. As William Wordsworth put it beautifully: “The best portion of a good man’s life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.”

(Those who divide poets into amateurs and professionals are wrong, because poetry is not a profession, but a state of mind-state of soul… Each verse that brings tears to someone’s eyes remains in memory, and the wise Jean Paul said: Our memories are the only paradise from which we can never be expelled.)

A man’s heart is small, but it is surrounded by the immensity of its soul. Sometimes our words may appear silent, but they are certainly heading for infinity.

THE LAND BEYOND THE RAINBOW

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To a land beyond the rainbow,
In which diversity is the harmony of living,
In which hatred is losing the battle against love,
In which a strong spirit is virtue instead of weakness;

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To where reality is conceived from thousands,
Tens of thousands of dreams,
Dreams that feed the soul,
Dreams that nurture the hearts of
Dreamers from all over the world;

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To a wonderful land of dreamers,
But I am tired,
My mornings are different now,
Full of extinguished sparks,
And the scents of weary nights
That lay beside you now,
Just like night birds,
Your weary wanderers,
Whose passion bled
Into life’s inexhaustible well.

Choosing A Wholesome Entertainment For Children

Ban dangerous games on the television

The love for money has encouraged companies to manufacture dangerous games for children

Very often psychologists and psychiatrists trace the cause of our present day ailments to homes.  Homes have straightforward stories to tell. The set up of our homes, immediately convey the message to a visitor the nature and character of those dwelling there and the sort of training or life being acquired from it.

Living in unsafe community, low-quality child care, lack of resources, broken homes, divorces etc; are some of the causes affecting children. Even though entertainment is said to enhance children’s education, it is said to be one of the major factors which affect children’s behavior. What programs are children watching on the television or what kind of games are they playing?

Unsafe, violent and crime games, are yearly produced by ‘Games Manufacturing Companies’ for children. Those companies called them ‘entertainments’ for children. The strong desire for money prevents them to see the harm they are doing to children. Staying hours playing these violent games continue affecting and shaping the lives of these children.

When a child starts cursing, using bad words at home or school is the time the child needs admonition from parents or teachers. They often learn those bad words from the programs they watched on the television or the games they play. The next thing is asking for fake or toy guns for their birthdays. A mother who loves her child will do everything to make him or her happy.

However, buying a toy gun for your son on his birthday, because he wants it, is a way of training your child to be a gun lover. The reason in the United States of America, many children are involved in juvenile crimes, relating to shootings. Yes, some children indulge in entertainments that graphically portrays immoral behavior.

Think, for example, movie and radio stations. Some movie stations feature only violent movies and some radio  stations play sadistic and demonic music. Violent hip-hop or rap music, become some children’s favorite music. They don’t only sing, but they do the violent things the songs preach. When violently erupts, it doesn’t only sweep along those that called for it, but also innocent victims. That’s the sad part of it.

People are confused about religion. Islam they say means ‘Brotherhood, Togetherness, and Peace, but what we see now is terrorism engulfing our neighborhood, discouraging parents to speak to children about the Gospel  or to embrace Bible principles. Religious violence shouldn’t prevent mothers to encourage children to adhere to educating and inspiring Biblical principles.

Education starts from home and what parents teach children from early childhood, become part of someone’s personality and characteristics. Therefore, the things kids learn from their parents have a lasting impression on people. Thus; parents should be careful about teaching their kids the moral values and responsibilities to the society.

Why Many Fear The Dead When They Can’t Harm Us?

Image 2Death is inevitable. It happens to everyone, without taking race, gender, age, religion, or status into consideration. Death is an enemy which has conquered and keeps on conquering, taking away the happiness of everyone when it strikes. “For the living knows that they will die; but the dead know nothing, their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished,” says the Bible at (Ecclesiastes 9:5)

Paranormal stories reveal the existence of restless spirits or ghosts, haunting places of abode and people, but I haven’t heard of a dead body harming anyone. Why then most people fear a dead body? The only way to determine if the dead can harm someone is to sleep at a graveyard till morning or stay with a dead body in a room alone. Believe me; you will have a peaceful union with the dead body than taking the risk to pass through a violent community.

On ‘Youtube’ are hundreds of pranks involving dead bodies. Some are very hilarious that one never stops laughing after watching them. I wonder why people risk their lives fleeing across the road, because a man stops a vehicle and tries to deposit the body of someone pretending to be dead. If the dead has no power at all to hurt someone, why the need to fear the dead instead of the living?

Some people were born naturally cruel. They kill for pleasure. Your friends can hurt you and make feel miserable like a church mouse. People invade your property, steal your belongings. Injustice, corruption, discrimination, racism, terrorism, child abuse, crime and violence everywhere, are caused by the living. The dead has got nothing to do with this. In fact the dead sometimes becomes victim of crime and injustice.

Ghouls get to graveyards to steal jewels, ornaments and expensive items buried with the dead, especially those who follow traditions of the royal family. Many enjoy making fortune out of people’s misery and tragedy. Aftermath of the Malaysia Airlines MH17, which was shot down recently in eastern Ukraine, some looters were at the site to steal money and credit cards, living at the expense of the dead.

Would you continue living in fear because of the dead when they have no power to harm you? The source of all our fear comes from our own uncontrolled minds. The mind is obsessed with fear to the extent that sometimes one flees when no one is after him and mostly flees from safety to danger. Life is beautiful; while we are part of this generation we mustn’t hurt our psychological emotions with unnecessary fears.
