Poetry Enriches The Human Soul, As It Nurtures Love

rainbowBy Walter William Safar

Poetry enriches the human soul, as it nurtures love, compassion, freedom and faith in people. I don’t know much about victories, but I am sure of one thing, that compassion is a victory of the human spirit. Yes, I consider myself to be lucky to share my poetry with everyone regardless of race or religion, because anyone’s tears are the same color, as well as an honest smile.

There is hope in me that you shall become my brothers in art, in terms of literature and compassion. Let it be the beginning of a wonderful friendship that shall be linked through small mercies. As William Wordsworth put it beautifully: “The best portion of a good man’s life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.”

(Those who divide poets into amateurs and professionals are wrong, because poetry is not a profession, but a state of mind-state of soul… Each verse that brings tears to someone’s eyes remains in memory, and the wise Jean Paul said: Our memories are the only paradise from which we can never be expelled.)

A man’s heart is small, but it is surrounded by the immensity of its soul. Sometimes our words may appear silent, but they are certainly heading for infinity.

THE LAND BEYOND THE RAINBOW

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To a land beyond the rainbow,
In which diversity is the harmony of living,
In which hatred is losing the battle against love,
In which a strong spirit is virtue instead of weakness;

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To where reality is conceived from thousands,
Tens of thousands of dreams,
Dreams that feed the soul,
Dreams that nurture the hearts of
Dreamers from all over the world;

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To a wonderful land of dreamers,
But I am tired,
My mornings are different now,
Full of extinguished sparks,
And the scents of weary nights
That lay beside you now,
Just like night birds,
Your weary wanderers,
Whose passion bled
Into life’s inexhaustible well.

A Crab Doesn’t Beget A Bird: Intriguing African Proverb

Crab

Proverbs are full of wisdom. It’s part of the lives of Africans, as they are used daily. Proverbs educate, warns, and reminds everyone in whatever we do. There are thousands of proverbs in Africa. For example, these are few Ghanaian proverbs.

  • A calf that is sucking does not bellow.
  • 2. A child does not laugh at the ugliness of his mother.
  • 3. A child who is to be successful is not reared exclusively on a bed of down.
  • 4. A crab does not beget a bird.
  • 5. A cracked bell can never sound well.
  • 6. A healthy person who begs for food is an insult to a generous farmer.
  • 7. A knife does not know who is its master.
  • 8. A powerful deity is the one to whom sacrifices are offered.
  • 9. A slave does not choose his master.
  • 10. A stranger dances – he does not sing.

But I like the proverb ” A Crab doesn’t beget a bird.” This proverb is somehow translated or means “Like father like son, or like mother like daughter.”Children look at what their parents do. If a father loves and plays with a gun, he could follow his passion to commit murder.

Along the line, it happens that his son has also inherits the passion of his father, and becomes a gun lover, leading him to commit murder like his father. That’s where the proverb ‘A crab doesn’t beget a bird’ comes in. Yes! Just like the father, he has also committed murder.

The Essence Of Blog Recognition And Nomination

Sunshine

(Nominated for both Blogger Recognition and Sunshine Blogger Awards.)

There are thousands of writers and authors but not everyone blogs. In our present society, where by the desire of reading is rapidly declining, you should count yourself a lucky one, when you have followers, readers interested in your blog and others that recognize your blog as good.

Every year, different blog recognition and nomination take place under committee of bloggers to determine the best blog. This gives every blogger the opportunity to compete with other bloggers. If your blog is evaluated and you win, you are honoured or awarded. It’s therefore rewarding and satisfying when you are nominated, even though vote leads to your success of winning.

I have been writing without ceasing, since it’s my passion. At the latter part of this year, I have been nominated twice. I received a mail confirming my nomination for ‘The Blogger Recognition Award’ from the well known author William Chasterson and my second nomination for ‘Sunshine Blogger Award’ by Purpleslobinrecovery, both active bloggers.

I give my sincere thanks to the two great bloggers, for their kindness and recognition for my blog. Nomination doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve won the ‘Trophy,’ since you are competing with other bloggers, but it satisfying to know that there are some followers and people out there who are interested in what you write.

Despite my passion as a writer, I dwell on the support of my followers and readers, because their likes and comments inspire me in certain ways. I learn from each comment and usually creates articles from what they say. I therefore give thanks to my followers and readers that despite how busy engaged to other activities, they still find time to visit my blog.

What’s Your Favourite Sport?: WWE Battleground Tonight

Battle 2

Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins

In the past and present societies, sports have become part of our everyday life. Surprisingly, people who are not directly involved are influenced to them. People take part and watch sports for a various reasons and also as a source of entertainment.

Thousands undertake long journeys to watch football match, hockey, athletics, basket ball, golf, cricket, bowling and others, just to enjoy themselves. The interest in sports is expanding rapidly than expected since many make a living through sports gambling.

I love watching football matches and athletics, but no sport enthralls me than wrestling. I have been watching wrestling since my youth and never feel tired of watching, because I love it. I feel very happy indeed that after my passion to write, there is a sort of entertainment like wrestling to refresh my tired psychological state.

Undertaker 3

The great undertaker

Every sport enthusiastic has a reason he or she likes that particular sports. I love wrestling due to certain wrestlers I consider to be great wrestlers of all time. Apart from their incredible talent and prowess, these wrestlers made wrestling worthy to watch, creating something different, thus; making wrestling more entertaining.

Undertaker, Sting, Shaun Michaels, Goldberg, Triple H, Booker T, Bret Hitman Hart, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton, etc, are some of the wrestlers that made the game more interesting to stick to. Undertaker to me is one of the greatest wrestlers the world has ever produced. The reason whenever he steps into the wrestling arena, whether to fight or not, the whole atmosphere changes.

Since without Undertaker, Sting and Goldberg, wrestling wouldn’t have meant anything special to me, I consider the three wrestlers great, in the field of the wrestling entertainment. Not even Kane has impressed me, despite how vicious he was in his glorious days. One remarkable about wwe is the sport never dies, more young talented wrestlers such as Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Ryback etc, are gradually making the wwe more entertaining.

Undertaker 2

As for female wrestling, that doesn’t inspire me in anyway, but I have respect for all of them, including Stephanie McMahon and Vickie Guerrero because it’s not easy to be a female wrestler, when they go through similar pains the men go through. Tonight is WWE’s Battleground match, I am strongly behind Brock Lesnar, because I hate the way Seth Rollins betrayed the ‘The Shield’ because of greed.

Now You See Me
