THE MALEVOLENT TWIN

SAGE 2

“The Malevolent Twin” is the story of a wayward wicked twin with destructive intentions. Avery Tran is ordinary in every way except one: her friend Venice. Since she was a young girl Avery was the only one who could see Venice. Avery would describe her as her own alter ego. As Avery got older, Venice began to appear in front of Avery wearing obscene clothing, mocking and harassing her for her frumpy style and average looks Eventually, Avery started to wonder what Venice truly was.

Usually imaginary friends leave after childhood is over. Her curiosity leads her to an abandoned ancient mobile home, where her parents had buried a stillborn, then to a wise old exorcist who failed to successfully exorcise Venice, then finally to a quirky middle aged psychic. All the trouble starts when Avery wakes up in a swinger’s club.

Having no recollection of how she ended up there, Avery starts to think it is Venice’s doing, after discovering herself dressed and made up to look like Venice. Soon after, a neighbor’s dog goes missing and a murder scene appears at her work place. Avery confronts Venice about these heinous acts and learns what she already suspected: it was Venice, controlling her body, who had committed the crimes.

Frantic to stop Venice, Avery starts to handcuff herself to the bed and searches for a way to rid herself of Venice entirely. The quirky psychic, Pennie Apples, helps her figure out what is really going on, but it comes too late. Venice murders someone very close to Avery, who feels obliged to turn herself in. In the end, Avery learns a lesson about what happens when the imaginary abruptly becomes very real.

Poverty And Illiteracy Are Causes To Witch Accusation In Africa

Emotional picture of the little-neglected child accused of witchcraft taking some water from Anja

Africa literacy facts reveal more than 1 in 3 adults cannot read.  182 million adults are unable to read and write and 48 million youths (ages 15-24) are illiterate. 22% of primary aged children are not in school, adding up to about 30 million primary aged children out of school.

With such a high rate of illiteracy, coupled with poverty, Africa is much influenced by superstition. Till now many societies in Africa are often immersed in beliefs such as witchcraft, ghosts, spirits etc, putting the lives of many people, including children and old women in danger.

The story of this innocent starved, naked little boy, went viral when accused of being a witch in Nigeria and was shunned by the community as a result. His story has come to light after a picture of a Danish woman  Anja Ringgren Lovén feeding the little boy, now named Hope, went viral.

Anja is the founder of the African Children’s Aid Education and Development Foundation, which attempts to save ‘witch children’ and change attitudes of Nigerian communities towards this archaic and cruel practice.

When a child is accused of being a witch by any member of the village, with many times accusations coming from the child’s parents themselves, they are often tortured or killed.
Parents risk being killed if they let their child stay after an accusation. Anja’s foundation is working hard to help educate the local communities, many of which are poor and uneducated, which keeps this practice alive. When she posted this photo of Hope on her     Facebook, she accompanied it with a powerful message.
“Thousands of children are being accused of being witches and we’ve both seen the torture of children, dead children, and frightened children. This footage shows why I fight. Why I sold everything I own. Why I’m moving out in uncharted territory,” she said. “I have chosen to call the boy Hope for right now, we all hope that he survives.”
Today he is doing well, with daily blood transfusions and a loving group of volunteers taking care of him.
Last year, seven people in the East African country of Tanzania were killed following accusations of witchcraft. They were attacked and burnt to death by a mob of villagers who accused them of engaging in witchcraft.

We Live In A Miraculous World

Miracle 2

Beautiful twins of different colours

Do you know that we live with miracle around us? In fact, miracles take place around us daily, but sometimes we don’t notice it or because some people don’t believe in miracles.

I remember seeing my first son when he was just a week old. Six months later, among other children sitting on the floor playing with toys, when I walked in, he stopped playing, looked at me and stretched his arms. He wants his Daddy to take him. How did he knew I’m his father? I couln’t answer.

Did you know that the chances of a mixed-race couple having twins who look as if they are from different races are actually million to one. This British couple, Kian & Remee Hodgson, were special enough to have twins who look remarkably different.

Yes, we live in a wonderful and miraculous world. Aren’t the children beautiful just like their parents?

Do You Experience God’s Miracle In Your Life?

Genesis 2I grew up in a family that strongly believes in God. At the corner of my parents’ bed room, stands a small table covered with a white cloth. On this table, lies the Holy Bible, which belongs to my mother. She wakes up early in the morning to pray without ceasing. Sometimes I see her shedding tears in her prayers, when she feels her prayers had been answered or touched spiritually.

Life, to many is sex, enjoyment, doing drugs, rock and roll, then after, you say good bye to your friends, when it’s time to go and sleep peacefully or tormented in your grave. That’s not the meaning of life. Life has a significant meaning or purpose. Watching my mother, each morning, behind the small table, I developed certain interest in seeking the face of God and started following her footsteps.

I read my Bible daily, and tried my best to live to the principle the holy book teaches. Like everyone, I wasn’t perfect, I did many things which I shouldn’t do as a child, but not in my adult hood. As I begin to mature, I started experiencing the miracle of God’s hand in my life. There are times I joke about it saying: Death doesn’t like ugly people, the reason I’m still living.

I was once carried away by the sea, because I couldn’t swim. Like Jonah in the belly of the whale and brought to the shores of Nineveh, after people gave up to save me, they watched as a mighty wave brought me ashore. The impact was heavy and the state of shock I find myself in at that moment, prevented me to put on my clothes. I walked home naked. Till now I’m scared of the sea and can’t swim.

I was once crossing a busy street in Africa, after watching both sides of the road, I felt secured to cross, but from nowhere I was caught up in the middle of the road, when a taxi hits me. Like a superman, I find my body in the mid-air, landing on top of the vehicle’s bonnet. The impact severely damaged the bonnet, but I survived.

In Africa, I was travelling on a mini-bus with other passengers. It was a very sunny day. I think the pressure in the vehicle’s Tyre warmed up to certain degrees Celsius, thus; one of the front Tyre’s exploded. The vehicle somersaulted continuously and finally landed on its side. I jumped out from the front seat without a scratch, when many were rushed to the hospital with injuries.

In Lagos State, Nigeria, I was kidnapped by armed robbers in military uniform. It was a swift action which took me by surprise. I was holding a small hand bag which attracted them. They thought probably the bag has over a million dollars. In the rear of the car, I struggled with them and wouldn’t let the bag go, while the butt of the rifles they were holding rain on every part of my body, including my head.

After every attempt failed, they pushed me from the vehicle while in motion and I landed on the ground with a force, like a bag of salt. I stood up, brushed the dust off my body and walked home. But the scars of the beating I had, can still be traced on my body today, after three decades.

In Amsterdam, I was nearly killed by a woman while on my bicycle. I fell and rolled ahead, while her front Tyre were on my bicycle. According to her, the sun partially blinded her, so she didn’t see me. I had bruises all over my body. She carried my badly damaged bicycle to a repairers’ shop and paid for the cost. Anxious to know of my condition, she called me the next day. I told her I’m doing well. That was the last time she called.

In Antwerp, Belgium, after holidays in Africa, I came back penniless with bills to pay. There was a particular one I needed time to pay 110 Euros at my son’s secondary school. That was a second letter reminding me, thus; the third letter wouldn’t be good for me. The end of the month to get my salary was still far, thus; the situation was actually disturbing.

It was winter and very dark, on my way to work, I spotted something like a folded money on the bicycle lane. I stopped and walked back to see if it’s money or mind is just playing tricks on me. Behold, it was money. I took it and unfolded it. Guess how much? Two fifty Euro notes, one ten Euro note and one five Euro note, a total of 115 Euros.

After work, I quickly went home to pay the 110 Euros to the school and used the five Euros to buy some few thing I needed most. There is no need to doubt over these stories, because they came from Joel Savage, the writer who loves non-fiction articles and books. Have you ever experienced the miracle of God’s hand in your life?

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Said Jesus at Matthew 7:7. Just as sports is good for the body, reading the Bible is good for the mind and your spiritual being.

The Controversy Surrounding Child Adoption By Homosexuals

Two men can't make a baby so they don't need a child

Gay Child adoption must be considered as a crime because innocent children get lost in the wilderness through ‘Gay-Child’ adoption.

Two men adopted a child. At home, they introduced themselves to the innocent child as their new parents. “Every child has a father and mother, where is my mother if you are my new parents?” The child asked. The homosexuals looked at each other’s face and scratched their heads and said to the small child, “We are just two men to take care of you.” That’s where the psychological turmoil of a child begins.

He has immediately realized that he has nothing called happiness in his world. Firstly, he has lost his real parents because of drug and alcohol issues, now he under the care of two fearful men, telling him we are your new parents. As young as he is the child realizes his future is bleak and uncertain. The men gave him assurance that he is going to be a happy child.

No matter how two men take care of a child, it will never be the same like a child growing with a man and woman. Some people are selfish, greedy, wicked and unfaithful. Sins of the flesh, uncontrollable evil desires, and bad habits prevent people to do the right thing even though they know perfectly well that what they are doing is wrong.

You choose to be gay because you are not interested in a woman, why then interested in a child, when two men can’t make a baby? Society is in decay, facing the threat of collapse, yet if one speaks about it, including homosexuality, he immediately becomes an enemy. Black people have endured and continue to endure the effects of slavery, racism, discrimination and medical crimes.

The world witnessed the killing of over 10 million Africans, including children, by a crazy Belgian king, called Leopold II, in Congo, yet Belgium built statues  and named streets after him. No one criticized Belgium for doing that. But Europe and America are against Africa, for saying “No We Don’t Want Homosexuality.” Stinking hypocrites. Do people think Africans are stupid? Not at all, Africans don’t feel stupid.

No African leader tells European and American leaders what to do, so America and Europe shouldn’t force Africa to accept homosexuality.  We simply don’t want it, but I’m strongly against the way some of the leaders are dealing with homosexual issues in Africa. Many Africans have suffered persecution and killings for just being gay. That’s inhuman.

Even though there are thousands of orphans and children from drug abused homes, governments shouldn’t decide that the only way to help these children is to allow homosexuals to adopt them. It’s a wrong decision. A real happy child runs to the bedroom of his mother and father every morning, not the bedroom of two mustaches.

I don’t hate homosexuals, but I don’t agree with them when it comes to child adoption. They force a child to smile and think the child is happy. We need to create a better world for the benefit of the future generation including children. Every intelligent person that cares about the future should rise on his feet, to tell the world “Homosexuals must stop adopting children.”

Choosing A Wholesome Entertainment For Children

Ban dangerous games on the television

The love for money has encouraged companies to manufacture dangerous games for children

Very often psychologists and psychiatrists trace the cause of our present day ailments to homes.  Homes have straightforward stories to tell. The set up of our homes, immediately convey the message to a visitor the nature and character of those dwelling there and the sort of training or life being acquired from it.

Living in unsafe community, low-quality child care, lack of resources, broken homes, divorces etc; are some of the causes affecting children. Even though entertainment is said to enhance children’s education, it is said to be one of the major factors which affect children’s behavior. What programs are children watching on the television or what kind of games are they playing?

Unsafe, violent and crime games, are yearly produced by ‘Games Manufacturing Companies’ for children. Those companies called them ‘entertainments’ for children. The strong desire for money prevents them to see the harm they are doing to children. Staying hours playing these violent games continue affecting and shaping the lives of these children.

When a child starts cursing, using bad words at home or school is the time the child needs admonition from parents or teachers. They often learn those bad words from the programs they watched on the television or the games they play. The next thing is asking for fake or toy guns for their birthdays. A mother who loves her child will do everything to make him or her happy.

However, buying a toy gun for your son on his birthday, because he wants it, is a way of training your child to be a gun lover. The reason in the United States of America, many children are involved in juvenile crimes, relating to shootings. Yes, some children indulge in entertainments that graphically portrays immoral behavior.

Think, for example, movie and radio stations. Some movie stations feature only violent movies and some radio  stations play sadistic and demonic music. Violent hip-hop or rap music, become some children’s favorite music. They don’t only sing, but they do the violent things the songs preach. When violently erupts, it doesn’t only sweep along those that called for it, but also innocent victims. That’s the sad part of it.

People are confused about religion. Islam they say means ‘Brotherhood, Togetherness, and Peace, but what we see now is terrorism engulfing our neighborhood, discouraging parents to speak to children about the Gospel  or to embrace Bible principles. Religious violence shouldn’t prevent mothers to encourage children to adhere to educating and inspiring Biblical principles.

Education starts from home and what parents teach children from early childhood, become part of someone’s personality and characteristics. Therefore, the things kids learn from their parents have a lasting impression on people. Thus; parents should be careful about teaching their kids the moral values and responsibilities to the society.

Humour: The Man With A Sad Face

sad-8

The man with a sad face

Sometimes before a baby is born, his or her parents had already suggested suitable names for the child. Names are influenced by our popular culture, tradition and heroes. Many people bear Biblical names, others not. As a Ghanaian from the Fantse tribe, my traditional name is Ato or Kwamena, because I was born on Saturday.

Names mean a lot but it’s not everyone who knows someone’s name. That’s the reason we often hear “Please what’s your name?” You may know someone because you’ve seen the person a couple of times, but may not know his or her name. I am one of them. In the neighbourhood where I grew up in Africa, few knew me but don’t know my name.

One day someone I know came looking for me in the neighbourhood where I lived. That was his first attempt to visit me. He mentioned my name, yet no one could help him. One Good Samaritan tried his best to help him. “Can you please describe the man you are looking for,” he asked the stranger. “He is a man with dark complexion, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, whose face looks like someone crying.”

“May be I know him, because there is a man who lives close to the beach, whose face really looks like someone crying, maybe it’s him,” said the Good Samaritan.

“Can we go to see if he is the one,” said the stranger. I was at home when I heard a knock on the door, as soon as I opened, stands Ben, my cousin who lives in the Western Region of Ghana. He narrates the funny description which led to my discovery.

“What, do my face looks like someone crying?” I asked.

“If your face doesn’t look like someone crying, how can this Good Samaritan realize that to come home with me? Ben asked.

This is not a matter of anger but laughter. I laughed so hard that my stomach ached, the fact that Ben has never told me this before. After Ben’s visit, I thought about this for a very long time and decided to get rid of this funny and humourous description about me.

By then I’ve heard of the book called ‘The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Pearle. I contacted a friend who had more books than me and borrowed Norman’s book from him. It was a very thick book but inspiring. “Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.” – Norman Vincent Pearle.

I did really enjoyed reading this interesting book. In fact, I have no words to describe how the book miraculously transformed my life, to get rid of that hidden facial expression which I have lived with for years without my knowledge. Well, it may be that my face still looks like someone crying, because of too much trouble in this world.
