Be Yourself No Matter What They Say

JelousyConstant jealousy makes one very ugly, when actually you are beautiful.

One thing about life is, whatever you do, people will always gossip, criticize or talk about you. Someone can hate you, because you are good in something, someone can hate you, because of your religion, someone can hate you, because of the color of your skin, someone can hate you, because of your sexual preference, above someone can hate for being honest.

In whatever situation you may find yourself, just be yourself, no matter what they say. Unfortunately, many can’t stand hatred, so they quickly throw in the towel, to please those brood of vipers intimidating and terrorizing them. That’s a big mistake. Never try to please anyone in life, because greed doesn’t allow people to be satisfied in life.

Life is very hard. The only people who really live are those who are harder than life itself,”  says Egyptian author Nawal El Sadaawi. Would you succumb to alcohol because the problems are too tough to handle? Or will live in perpetual darkness and depression because someone hates you?

There is only one medicine that heals and kills your enemy. That is laughter. Apart from being good for your health, your enemy cries when he sees you laughing. Remember in life, never ever try to please anyone. Kindness is very good, but please avoid too much kindness, because some kindness may give you a lot of worries.

With each year passing, the world is becoming increasingly dangerous, overrun with dishonest politicians, hypocrites and criminals. Everyone has the right to choose his own destiny. If you want to be one of them, you can join them, but please don’t hate anyone because he wants to live true, clean and pure, else you’ll damage your health with hatred and jealousy.

Your Enemy Gets Mad, If He Fails To See You The Way He Wants

Enemy 5

No one gives birth to a child and name him or her ‘Enemy,’ thus; I haven’t met anyone yet called ‘Enemy.’ Yet an enemy exists, the reason the dictionary defines it: As a person who is actively opposed or hostile to someone or something.

What causes enmity between people? I watched a program of a man that hates his neighbour. According to him, his neighbour’s stereo was too noisy and many times when he asks him to reduce the volume he refuses to yield to his demand.

I understand him, especially after the week’s hard work, you wish to have a happy and quiet lovely weekend, reading your favourite books and newspapers, but that neighbour of yours has denied you all those good moments you’re longing for.

At times you might be an enemy or someone might hate you for doing no wrong, just because of your efforts to live a happy life. Do you know that your hard work can sometimes spark jealousy and hatred from an empire of deceitful enemies?

Do you know that even your successful marriage sometimes makes you an enemy, because your neighbour’s marriage is on the rocks? How do you handle such situations when you haven’t done anything wrong but someone madly hates you?

I do hear people often say: The problem was beyond my control, the reason I used food as a means of consolation, became an alcoholic or drug addict. That’s really a big mistake. When you’re experiencing problems, you don’t live on destructive measures to solve your problems, you need to fight those destructive elements.

Years back when I arrived in Europe, among other foreigners, I came to Italy at a time I don’t know anyone. I slept at the Central Train Station in Rome for many days. (I have revisited Rome to see where I slept in the early nineties) I saw that the hard conditions were taking its toll on some of the homeless Africans.

Some became alcoholics, drug addicts, involved in drug trafficking and some decided to go back to Africa. I encouraged them to stay but many of them returned to Africa. Today, I’m no more an illegal immigrant. Above all, I live with my wife and three children in Europe. I wake up every morning at 5 AM and go to work like other workers, enjoying happy union with my family when I’m come at back home.

I know what the enemy wants. I wasn’t ready to be a destitute, alcoholic, drug addict or courier. If I have made it, then you can. Never blame anyone for your failure in life. Don’t let your enemy be happy. Fight those destructive forces to make them mad.

We Know Where We Come From, But Where Do We Go After Death?

Death 2Be happy you’ll die instead of being sad thinking of death.

Death is something many don’t like to talk about, because it’s an enemy that ruins home, takes away our joy and destroys a whole family, yet it’s inevitable.

Many do ask if we die “where do we go?” It’s hard to give a straight-forward answer. Even though I have cheated death many times in my life, I haven’t experienced it before to know how it is when you’re dead.

I don’t think a dead man has any memory after death to record his experience. According to the Bible: “For the living know that they will die,  but the dead know nothing… their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished” Ecclesiastes 9:5.

Many believe in reincarnation, others don’t, but the Bible promises that there is life after death—and that it lasts forever.

There is something we need to ask: Why many who have died can’t rest peacefully in their graves but often haunt people occupying the houses they were before they died? Does it mean that truly life goes on after death?

There are many verses in the Bible that speak about the resurrection. John 5: 28-29 reads, “Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.”

Despite all the Biblical quotations, many may still have different opinions and beliefs about death. Death will always remain a mystery and the greatest fears of life connected to the unknown.

We fear death because we are imperfect or our sinful nature. According to Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord,” yet death is something we should not fear.

Many seem happy when they think of death in their old age. They don’t have anything to worry about because of their good deeds, genuine love and help they offered to people on earth. We can follow them to sow good seeds on earth. That’s where the happiness comes from till death.

A Man Can’t Be Praised For His Evil Deeds, Unless You’re Evil

Luther 5

We often hear “I don’t like Obama, I hate CNN, I don’t like George W. Bush etc. If you try to find out the reason for their hatred and dislike, they will tell you why.

It is very easy to hate than showing or giving love to a person. Thus, probably if someone hates me, there must be a reason for that. But when I haven’t committed any crime, I would like to find out why someone hates me. Is it because of my probing articles?

I am an African writer living in Europe, reading every humiliating and degrading articles European and American journalists write about Africa. Do you expect me to join them when they have many problems to deal with on their shores but pretend everything is fine?

In Brussels, come daily European and other world leaders to talk about problems affecting the world, with the aim of finding solutions to tackle those problems. In the same Brussels stands a statue of Leopold II, a king who killed and maimed over ten million Africans, including women and children.

Belgium didn’t take the crime of this criminal into consideration. Instead, they built a statue to glorify and named streets after him throughout the country, when there is no statue of Adolf Hitler, for killing 6 million Jews. Would you hate me as an African writer, who values life, if I write that the Belgian government should pull down that statue?

The world leaders and journalists converging at Brussels don’t care about any statue, because they are not Africans, moreover the life of an African to them is valueless. But since the Bible I read tells me that ‘God created man in His own image,’ I will write an article against this injustice and ignorance.

There is no one in his right mind who would praise someone who has committed such a heinous crime unless the person is sick himself or evil. Sometimes “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed,” said Martin Luther King Jr. Yes, the sufferer has to scream for the oppressor to know what the oppressed are going through.

Terrorism

The selfishness, greed, hypocrisy and bad policies of European and American leaders have generated scores of hatred for the common citizens. Whatever terrorism has taken place in Europe and America, in the past and today were caused by Europe and America.

In Brussels, they sit behind a heavy security gate and take measures to combat terrorism. After that, they give those measures to the media for publication but the reasons which led to the killing of the innocent citizens are never given to the media. Because they don’t want the public to know the truth and again aren’t ready to change their bad policies.

It’s unfortunate that people don’t realize the harm these politicians are causing in the society against ordinary citizens. Do we have to depend on such people/politicians for security or protection? They were there when 9/11 occurred. They were there when runners taking part in a marathon were murdered by unscrupulous terrorists. They were there when terrorist struck France and they were there when Africa was intentionally plagued with Aids, Ebola, Lassa fever and other diseases.

When they see victims of terrorism bodies scattered, before you’ll soldiers and the police with guns at every point of the street, disrupting public activities. These politicians have no protection for us today or tomorrow. In fact, they have left us sitting on a time bomb, without knowing when the next terrorist act will strike.

Honestly, the public can take good care of themselves more than what politicians can do, if each becomes his brother’s keeper, giving love, doing away with racism, discrimination and living in peace and harmony. Love truly conquers everything.

Poetry Enriches The Human Soul, As It Nurtures Love

rainbowBy Walter William Safar

Poetry enriches the human soul, as it nurtures love, compassion, freedom and faith in people. I don’t know much about victories, but I am sure of one thing, that compassion is a victory of the human spirit. Yes, I consider myself to be lucky to share my poetry with everyone regardless of race or religion, because anyone’s tears are the same color, as well as an honest smile.

There is hope in me that you shall become my brothers in art, in terms of literature and compassion. Let it be the beginning of a wonderful friendship that shall be linked through small mercies. As William Wordsworth put it beautifully: “The best portion of a good man’s life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.”

(Those who divide poets into amateurs and professionals are wrong, because poetry is not a profession, but a state of mind-state of soul… Each verse that brings tears to someone’s eyes remains in memory, and the wise Jean Paul said: Our memories are the only paradise from which we can never be expelled.)

A man’s heart is small, but it is surrounded by the immensity of its soul. Sometimes our words may appear silent, but they are certainly heading for infinity.

THE LAND BEYOND THE RAINBOW

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To a land beyond the rainbow,
In which diversity is the harmony of living,
In which hatred is losing the battle against love,
In which a strong spirit is virtue instead of weakness;

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To where reality is conceived from thousands,
Tens of thousands of dreams,
Dreams that feed the soul,
Dreams that nurture the hearts of
Dreamers from all over the world;

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To a wonderful land of dreamers,
But I am tired,
My mornings are different now,
Full of extinguished sparks,
And the scents of weary nights
That lay beside you now,
Just like night birds,
Your weary wanderers,
Whose passion bled
Into life’s inexhaustible well.

Are You A Victim Of Hate? Don’t Worry Be Happy

Happy 7

Hatred, jealousy, loving, backstabbing, gossiping etc, are all part of the aspects of human life. Even though to be a victim of hate or finding yourself in a center of hatred, especially when you have done anything wrong, can be very disturbing, one should always consider him/herself lucky when someone hates you. This sounds stupid isn’t it? You will later find out how your happiness kills your enemies without your knowledge.

In the first place ask yourself: Why this person does hate me? What does he or she wants from me? What have I done to him or her to deserve this? Knowing perfectly well that you haven’t done anything wrong to deserve what you are going, will give answers to your questions.

The reason may be that: You’ve got something special and unique. This may be your intelligence, personality, beauty, dressing, humbleness, success etc; which that person wants or wish to take them away from you but all seems impossible.

However, why do you need to be happy when going through such life difficulties? When someone is tormenting your life and you easily begin to show your weakness and the effect on you, the person becomes very happy indeed. It makes him or her feel that she is driving you insane.

Happy 10

Once you show that weakness, that’s when he/she will continue with his or her plans to make you more miserable. But when she sees you happy, that automatically kills her appetite to continue with her devilish plans to harm you. Frankly speaking, there is nothing which kills someone who hates you more than to see you smiling, laughing or happy.

I believe that Jesus Christ, as a great teacher knew this, the reason he said “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
