How Showing Compassion For Animals Can Improve Your Health

COMP 2Original article published by: ONE GREEN PLANET

The effects of compassion are far reaching and have been shown to have benefits for physical as well as psychological health. A wealth of evidence demonstrates that social support, when humans connect in a meaningful way with other people or animals, helps in the recovery from illness as well as promoting increased levels of mental and physical well-being.

Evidence from studies mentioned in the previous blog suggests that interventions can lead to reduced depressive symptoms and feelings of isolation, improvements in positive emotions, psychological well-being, hopefulness, optimism, social connection, life satisfaction, and, of specific interest to this paper –  compassion.

Such interventions have been found to also impact upon how people behave – increasing pro-social acts and decreasing anti-social behavior.

The Far-Reaching Benefits of Compassion

Furthermore, research by Sara Konrath at the University of Michigan and Stephanie Brown at Stony Brook University shows that a compassionate lifestyle might even increase our lifespan. The reverse is also true, and motivation appears to pay an important part.

It is not sufficient to simply do good deeds; one must do them for the right reason. Sara Konrath’s research also revealed that whilst people who were active in volunteering did live longer than their non-volunteering peers, the impact only happened if their reasons for volunteering were altruistic rather than self-serving.

Barbara Frederickson, Steve Cole and fellow researchers have demonstrated this on a cellular level.  They found high cellular inflammation levels in subjects whose happiness stemmed from a hedonistic lifestyle. Conversely, they found low inflammation levels in people whose lives were enriched by greater meaning and compassionate service to others, including non-human animals.

World Health Organization: You Have Abused Your Trust

Story 3The beginning of Africa’s Ebola story: Spraying contaminated vaccines into the mouth of innocent African children in Zaire.

The mere mention of the name World Health Organization, brings satisfaction, comfort and hope to many in both developed and developing countries globally. For decades WHO directs, coordinates and responsible for providing solutions to global health matters, monitoring and assessing health trends within the United Nations.

However, it seems in the past years, WHO has taken part in certain medical crimes, which took place in Africa, especially the Aids and Ebola issues. WHO can’t deny they are not aware that Aids and Ebola viruses are human made and tested on Africans in Uganda and Zaire, in order to find vaccines against it for military defending purposes.

WHO can’t deny they are not aware from 1954 to 1957, Dr. Hillary Koprowski injected over a million Africans with the viruses of Aids and Ebola, deceiving them it was vaccine for polio. Between 1960 and 1973, tests were held on a major initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO) at a medical field research site in the West Nile district.

Three times a year, blood was taken from about 45.000 children, including babies to investigate a relationship which existed between a common endemic disease and the virus that causes mononucleosis. But that wasn’t the reason. They were actually looking for antibodies against micro-organisms, the reason those children and babies were given contaminated polio vaccines.

This contaminated vaccine was confirmed by Professor-Scientist Cohen, decades ago in a medical press conference held in The Netherlands. With all these emerged evidences can The World Health Organization still continue to pretend they aren’t aware or know that Aids and Ebola are medical crimes against humanity?

Both The World Health Organization and the Media have failed the world, because both have abused their trusts. This practice calls journalists not only free but makes them even complicit because they are constantly behind the medical establishment running away from fear of powerful reprisals against falling advertising revenue from pharmaceutical and medical field and a possible boycott of medical Mafiosi after placing negative items.

It is part of both World Health Organization and the Media to inform the public on issues considered as a threat to public health; instead they chose to cover up the crime, because those crimes were committed against Africans, but they have forgotten that Aids has taken both the black and whites to their untimely graves.

Even though no amount of apology can heal the pains of the families of victims of Aids and Ebola, yet it is time for World Health Organization to come out clean and apologize, because that’s the only way to rebuild their trust.

Finally, the scientist, Professor Johan Van Dongen, now considered a whistle blower, by his country, Holland, for revealing those crimes, has a message for everyone including unborn babies:

“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world…would do this, it would change the earth.” – William Faulkner.

Poetry Enriches The Human Soul, As It Nurtures Love

rainbowBy Walter William Safar

Poetry enriches the human soul, as it nurtures love, compassion, freedom and faith in people. I don’t know much about victories, but I am sure of one thing, that compassion is a victory of the human spirit. Yes, I consider myself to be lucky to share my poetry with everyone regardless of race or religion, because anyone’s tears are the same color, as well as an honest smile.

There is hope in me that you shall become my brothers in art, in terms of literature and compassion. Let it be the beginning of a wonderful friendship that shall be linked through small mercies. As William Wordsworth put it beautifully: “The best portion of a good man’s life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.”

(Those who divide poets into amateurs and professionals are wrong, because poetry is not a profession, but a state of mind-state of soul… Each verse that brings tears to someone’s eyes remains in memory, and the wise Jean Paul said: Our memories are the only paradise from which we can never be expelled.)

A man’s heart is small, but it is surrounded by the immensity of its soul. Sometimes our words may appear silent, but they are certainly heading for infinity.

THE LAND BEYOND THE RAINBOW

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To a land beyond the rainbow,
In which diversity is the harmony of living,
In which hatred is losing the battle against love,
In which a strong spirit is virtue instead of weakness;

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To where reality is conceived from thousands,
Tens of thousands of dreams,
Dreams that feed the soul,
Dreams that nurture the hearts of
Dreamers from all over the world;

You are calling me, road of dreams,
To a wonderful land of dreamers,
But I am tired,
My mornings are different now,
Full of extinguished sparks,
And the scents of weary nights
That lay beside you now,
Just like night birds,
Your weary wanderers,
Whose passion bled
Into life’s inexhaustible well.

Do We Have To Trust A Dog Than A Human Being?

Blind 2

Is dog trustworthy than man?:A guard dog leading the blind

Have you ever being a passenger in a train, bus or a tram, then another passenger comes in with his or dog? Did you notice the reactions and facial expressions of other passengers who don’t like animals? Action speaks louder than words. Some people hate animals to the extent that they develop hatred for animal lovers.

We have read it many times and sometimes finds it hard to believe or understand when people, even though have children but give everything they own or prepare their will for their pets. In New York, an accountant and pet owner left a fortune of around £I million to her dog to enjoy a happy life after she dies.

In Germany, a German Shepherd called Gunther became one of the world’s richest animals after his owner, a German countess, left the dog $145m (£95m) when she died. Many may call such people bad, wicked, pitiless, or people without compassion, the fact that they don’t care about the suffering of people.

The question is: Why is that many people are homeless, dying of hunger, yet certain rich people prefer their animals to inherit their wealth? When you go deep to find out the reason many give their wealth to their pets, you can find out that a lot have been hurt by other people, including their own family. People have lost confidence and faith in other people, because of  bitter experiences they find it hard to forget or forgive.

If you want to test how cunning, unfaithful and dishonest a man is, give him an inch, he will take a yard, or give him a yard, he will take a mile. Dogs are trained to serve the blind for the rest of his or her life, but man can’t. A dog can be with the blind every day without grumble, but man grumbles. Man has no patient to serve his fellow man, even to love his woman for the rest of his life. The reason there is so much separation and divorces worldwide, but a faithful dog never leaves the master.

Life is full of many challenges, thus; the happiness of many people depend on their pets. Instead of hating someone because you hate dogs or cats, cultivate love in your heart, for both the animal and the owner, that will make you appreciate and see the beauty of every living creature on earth, because they all have breath like a normal person.
