Do Comments And Likes Really Make A Blog Successful?

Health blog

International Blog Award from Blogspot to the new health blog, ‘Secrets Of Aids, Ebola, And Other Man-Made Diseases.’

Time and time, we have been told that an article without comments or likes means the author has a problem or the blog isn’t appealing enough to attract readers.

I will prove that these are just imaginations and may be exaggerations because my recent survey reveals that many blogs, for example, health, travel, and tourism heavily influenced or attracted by readers have no comments or likes.

Above all, on August 1, 2016, we (Holland scientist, Johan Van Dongen and the writer Joel Savage) launched a new blog named ‘Secrets Of Aids, Ebola And Other Man-Made Diseases,’ just within 6 weeks, the new health blog has registered close to 19,000  readers without  acomments or likes.

As a matter of fact, liking or commenting on an article is very good but an author shouldn’t subject his mind to psychological pressure or be paranoid that his or her blog or contents are poor.

There are thousands of readers even though may like your article but will never show any  ‘like’ or leave a comment behind. However, they will always come back to read because they enjoy what you write.

In my opinion, ‘likes and comments’ from the same people or group reflecting on what you write every day may even affect your business if you are an entrepreneur.

Why the same group or people always comment on or like my article and what does it portray? These are some of the questions you need to ask yourself. Many bloggers are aware of what I am talking about the reason after some time you don’t see them liking or giving comment.

In my opinion, you can always be a successful blogger, not necessarily good contents but write subjects which aren’t common or different from other bloggers. Readers are not interested in an article which thousands of people have written. That will hurt you as a writer and even affect the desire to be a successful blogger.

It’s better you have two or three comments from an unknown reader than same people or group every day. If you are a writer experiencing this, then I’m sorry you will not get far with your blog, even though some few people may be successful with that.

This is the reason ‘Secrets Of Aids, Ebola, and Other Man-Made Diseases’ instantly became successful because we published articles or information  suppressed by governments but readers are hungry looking for something different to read.

We proudly present the International Award we had from Google Bloggers Directory last month.

Babies: Those Who Want Can’t Get And Those Who Get Don’t Want

Unwanted

Unwanted baby deposited in a baby box.

Once I visited a Belgian couple in the neighborhood of Antwerp. They are married for many years and both are in their forties. They dearly love each other and many times, I study the way Peter treats his wife, kindly, gently and respectfully. “Joel, hold a woman like an egg, because when it breaks, you can’t pick it up, you will only miss your water when your well runs dry,” Peter once told me.

I do ask questions, especially when very close to someone. “Peter, you don’t like children,” I said. “I married to have children, but we never had one. I’ve tried everything without success, “said Peter. “After everything failed, did you ask from God,” I asked. “If there is God, then he might be a very wicked God,” said Peter.

I realized the pain and heartache of Peter. His comments are enough to know how dear baby means to him, but frankly speaking, when one seeks God, God will also seek you. His wife couldn’t bring forth a baby and now he hates God for that. It’s not only Peter and his wife facing this bitter experience. Worldwide, there are thousands of women looking for children without success.

Some have spent thousands of dollars just to be pregnant all to no avail. Many are sad in their matrimonial homes, because the child they are longing for never comes. Thousands of women are desperate looking for babies. Without any hope of having own their babies, some adopt children, yet thousands of babies are killed daily through abortion, strangulation and abandonment.

Some mothers are so cruel that one finds it difficult to believe what they did to their own babies, The question is, why babies often end up in the hands of women who don’t want them, when someone else is looking for one without success? Couple of months ago, a woman from New Jersey was arrested and charged with murder for allegedly putting her newborn baby in the middle of the road and setting the infant on fire.

Innocent babies are being dumped in toilets, bushes, roadsides, gutters etc, without any pity or remorse. The need to do more to help mothers with unwanted babies is necessary. Governments worldwide should also find a solution to avoid abandoned babies, because society wouldn’t accept this kind of cruelty. Germany has already found a solution to discourage abandoning of babies, by providing baby bank.

Lee Jong-rak , a pastor in South Korea, saw a devastating problem in the amount of abandoned babies left to die on the streets. He organized a “Baby Drop Box” where unwanted babies are deposited in a box, saving thousands of babies who would have been left on the streets or abandoned to die. Life is precious, people should stop killing babies.

Stupid Things That Undermine The Intelligence Of The Blackman

Money

Martin Luther King Jr had a dream, giving hope to African-Americans. He was the first African-American to be “Time” magazine’s ‘Man of the Year’ and also won the Nobel Peace Prize, honors that are given to people who have certainly made an impact, while Rosa Parks, the Civil Rights icon refused to give up her seat on a city bus in Montgomery. Both Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks have made things easy and better for the Black man today.

The sacrifice of these two great people in the history of African-Americans, is what should inspire every black man. Unfortunately, there are many African-Americans, irresponsible behavior, actions and comments are total disgrace to the Black man. When one works hard and is blessed with money, that shouldn’t permit the person to behave like a moron, because when one black does something stupid, it affects all black people.

Couple of years ago, a hip-hop artist, Bryan Birdman, aka Baby Williams, made headlines like other hip-hop artists. According to Forbes Magazine, “He tries to wear $I million worth of orthodontics and jewel every day. Finally, he said he will bet $I0 million on Floyd Mayweather, whenever he fights Manny Pacquiao. One of the YouTube videos of Birdman, shows him advertising his wealth in dollars. He claims he has stacked money on the floor, everywhere and he walks on it. It’s embarrassing as I tried to figure out, why do people do that, are they looking for recognition or status?

Floyd Mayweather is one of the respected boxers in America. He has achieved what many boxers couldn’t and at the moment is considered to be one of the highest paid men in sports. But his pride has pushed him to do what many African-Americans have done to lose their respect. Recently Mayweather posted a picture of him sitting behind stacked money on bed.

I don’t know what comes into the mind of these people to do things like that, because such things do not give any respect but rather portray the Black man as stupid and moron. Everyone knows that you are rich, so what’s the need to send a picture behind thousands of dollars to the social media? Is that the way to get more fame or popularity?

African-Americans that behave in this way should put an end to it, because it undermines the intelligence of the Black man. If they really want to be famous, then they should follow my advice. Both Birdman and Mayweather should join a flight to Africa, Ghana. In Accra, they should board the bus heading to Cape Coast, in the Central Region of Ghana. Few kilometers to Cape Coast, they will see many villages along the road. They should stop and walk to any of those villages.

They will see the children of their ancestors, (because Cape Coast is where a lot of African-Americans were taken from) sitting under mango trees and roofless classrooms studying. They should try to provide them a place to learn, to escape the heat of the sun and the heavy thunderous rains, since they are so rich and don’t know what to do with their money. After doing all these they must return to America and see how the people and others from different parts of the world would say about them and be respected.

Experienced WordPress Bloggers I Need Your Help

Wordpress 13

I’m completely new to WordPress. It’s  about a year now since I commenced posting articles on my blog. Even though WordPress is one of the most comfortable sites to use, I’ve encountered a problem which I’m finding it difficult to solve.

About six months ago, when I logged in, I was directed to a fresh page, instead of my original platform. I mistakenly published an article, before I realized that it was a fresh page. Since then I have two WordPress sites with the same admin url address. I tried to delete the article and the entire blog, but I was warned deletion will also affect my old blog, since the url address is the same.

Now anytime I log in to my old blog, it directs me to the new site I mistakenly publish the article.  I’m not interested and want to get rid of it completely, can anyone please give me directives on how to solve this problem. I have been working on this for the past three days without solution. Some readers can’t locate my original blog and giving comments at the wrong place.

This is the link of url to the blog I mistakenly published the article: https://joelsavage.wordpress.com/2014/11/11/the-failure-of-the-media-and-the-lost-of-its-ethics-and-credibility/ and the link of my original blog.

Social Media Tips: How To Increase Your Text Or Font Size in WordPress

WORD 1

WordPress is a social platform made easy with essential tools, to make it simple and easy for the blogger and website owners. For example it has ‘Akismet’ anti-spam plugin which stops spam comments and trackbacks. Besides, WordPress has provided ‘Jetpack’ plugin that gives access to hosted features automatically.

I am completely new to WordPress, but because they made it easy and simple for bloggers to enjoy using the platform, I’m getting familiar to many things. Online and on the support platform of WordPress, there are several questions over how to change the font size to make it easy for some readers that find it difficult to read.

I painstakingly followed the instructions to increase the size of the text of the theme I’m using but all were abortive. Just as I was about to give up, I discovered how easy it was. Below is a simplest and easiest way to increase your text.

  • At the top left hand corner of your blog you see ‘My Sites’ at near ‘W’, the logo of WordPress.
  • Point your mouse cursor on it, then comes underneath ‘View Site, WP admin, Stats, Pages, Media, News etc.
  • Under ‘LOOK AND FEEL’ click ‘Customize.’ A customizing window opens with this message ‘You are customizing ……………. (The name of your blog is written there.)
  • Then follows ‘You are customizing …………….(That’s the name of the Theme you are using.)
  • Point your cursor to ‘Customize’ and click. Underneath appears

Custom Design

Site Title and Tagline

Colors and Background

Fonts

Header Image etc.

Click ‘Fonts’ when the window of the fonts widget opens, increase the size of your text the way you want it and then SAVE IT. (Don’t forget to save it. View your blog and you see how large and beautiful your articles are seen.

Should Writers Respond to Comments on Their Articles?

Original article by Yael Grauer, published by The Freelancer

When I first started writing, everyone always warned me to stay far, far away from the comments. Perhaps I’m narcissistic—or a glutton for punishment—but I found it nearly impossible to stop myself from checking in. When writing for MMA sites, I’d read through insult after insult written by teenagers living in their parents’ basement (our core audience), which was never a pleasant experience.

The free weekly paper that paid me pennies to blog about food after it fired its full-time food writer clearly didn’t have the staff to moderate comments. Whenever I’d give a restaurant a good review, I’d get to sift through weird conspiracy theories about how I was secretly coerced into saying nice things because of some kind of advertising deal that didn’t actually exist. I always felt slightly betrayed that these sites hung us writers out to dry by not moderating at all. I rarely responded, though I was tempted to create fake accounts to argue with readers about how I was right. I always wondered if the wrath of commenters would taint how editors viewed my work.

I was a ghostwriter for a couple of large health websites, always surprised at how the people I ghosted for reacted to the comments. They’d expect rewrites and revisions over minor nitpicks, even if the commenter was wrong.

Sites have wildly different opinions on whether journalists should engage with readers. Some sites don’t seem to pay attention, while others—such as MindHut and SparkLife—even go so far as rewarding writers who get a certain amount of upvotes when responding to comments.
