The Mysterious Sandwich Thief

Sandwich

In Europe and America, an innocent black man likely becomes a suspect because of the colour of his skin. At the premises of the industrial cleaning company, are workers from various countries, including Africans. For almost three months, the company we were working for, takes us to another industrial company in the district of Antwerp, called FABRICOM, to work there.

Fabricom is a construction company occupying a very large terrace. The company installs and maintains electricity installations, video surveillance, heating etc. Like the officials, the industrial workers also used containers as offices, toilets and dining hall.

The work at Fabricom was very heavy, thus; among hardworking operational staff, we do eight hours per day and most of the time, I drive a forklift. At 12 P.M, we have our lunch break. It was launch time we detected that some of the workers’ launch box had gone missing.

To work very hard and to find out that your lunch box is missing or stolen, is an issue too tough to handle. This didn’t happen once or twice but daily. Action speaks louder than words. Being Africans among white workers, all eyes were on us as the suspect, even though we weren’t accused of any theft.

At the dining hall, the atmosphere becomes tense, when on the fifth day of the week, one of the workers finds his food stolen again. This time, the management decides to do something about it. They secretly started their investigations, creating undetected hideout aiming to catch the person responsible for this theft red-handed.

The following week, about a quarter to noonday, a mysterious man emerged into the quiet dining hall, looking for a meal to steal. After tasting a number of meals, he finds a delicious one and he took it. As he tries to walk out he was intercepted.

Shockingly, out of over hundreds of workers at the company, the mysterious thief appeared to be one of our colleagues from Portugal. He was interrogated but the company didn’t call the police. Instead, they informed the boss of our company of what has happened.

Fabricom wouldn’t like to see the thief at the company’s premises again, so the company I was serving sent the Portuguese to another place to work. Sometimes it’s very hard to be judged wrongly because of the colour of your skin, but that shouldn’t prevent us to build a good relationship, with our neighbours, colleagues and our bosses.

Jeremy Corbyn condemns “horrific and immoral” attack

Christopher Hope writes:

Jeremy Corbyn, newly sworn as a privy counsellor which allows him to be briefed on state secrets, will get a Downing Street security briefing today in the wake of the French terror attacks in Paris today.

Here is his statement:

“Today, all our thoughts and sympathy are with the people of Paris.

“What took place in the French capital yesterday was horrific and immoral.

“We stand in solidarity with the people of France – as with all victims of terror and violence.

“I have cancelled my engagements today to hold discussions on events in France with shadow cabinet colleagues and be briefed by Downing Street security officials.

“It’s vital at a time of such tragedy and outrage not to be drawn into responses which feed a cycle of violence and hatred.

“We are proud to live in a multicultural and multi-faith society, and we stand for the unity of all communities.”

Gatwick’s North Terminal has flights suspended

Lyndsey Telford is at Gatwick Airport where she reports that North Terminal is still evacuated.

Flights departing from the North Terminal, where a man was arrested after a suspicious item was found, have been suspended. Entrance to the terminal is cordoned off with a small police presence.

Hundreds of confused and frustrated passengers have formed a winding queue unsure of whether their flights will depart at all. Passengers arriving on flights into the airport have described scenes of “chaos” and “mayhem”.

Alex Pollock arrived this morning on a flight from Bordeaux into the North Terminal. He said: “As soon as we got off the plane, we were met by Border Force security guys who told us the area had been evacuated and we had to get as far away from the North Terminal as possible”.

He said staff at Gatwick seemed to have “no idea” about the security alert. “It’s been absolutely chaotic, which has made the whole experience all the more unnerving.”

Separately, passengers trying to leave Gatwick have been told public transport was in “lockdown”, but it is understood trains are in fact arriving and departing from the airport.

His Body Disappeared From The Morgue

Mortuary 2

Aftermath of the serious headlong coalition involving two buses, which claimed ten lives on the spot, the fire service was called in to pull out the dead bodies from the wreckage. Identification wasn’t easy because of the state of the corpses, yet a woman identifies one of the corpses as her brother. He was an auto mechanic. His tool box which was with him before the tragedy occurred was found close to his dead body.

She rushes home wailing, to narrate the sad news to her mother and father. They quickly rushed to the scene but the bodies were already transferred to the mortuary. When they went to the mortuary, they saw their son’s body and the tool box among the items of those who lost their lives. It wasn’t a mistaken identity because Jame’s name is boldly written on his tool box. It was the saddest day for James’ family. When the family were leaving the mortuary, they went home with the deceased’s tool box.

When ready to bury James, they went to the mortuary to collect his body, but the body was nowhere to be found. The corpse has disappeared from the morgue without a trace. Their fears increased when they found out later at home that his tool box has also vanished. It was as if the mind is playing tricks on them but it is a reality.

Years passed, then one day, a woman from the village where the mechanic died, saw him working in an auto garage, in one of the big cities hundreds of kilometers from the village. “James, everyone thought you were dead after the accident. Why for a very long time you’ve failed to visit your mother and father aftermath the accident? The woman noticed something strange about James. Even though he didn’t give her an answer, she conluded: “Tomorrow I will tell your parents that I saw you here.”

When the woman went back to the village she quickly sped towards James’ family compound to tell them what she had seen. They refused to accept her story, asking if she is out of her mind, but she insisted that she is speaking the truth. The following day, they quickly joined the bus to where the mechanic is working but he was absent that day.

According to the director of the garage where James works, he received a message from one of his colleagues that he wasn’t feeling well and therefore will not be at work. Astonishingly, from the day James failed to come to work, he has never been seen again with his tool box. Is he going to begin a new life in another garage? Asked James family. The strange story remains a mystery.
