Is Ghana’s Obinim Among The Many False Prophets That Will Arise and Deceive People?

Obinim 4The founder of International God’s Way Church, Daniel Obinim, claims has powers to heal.

“Cast thy bread upon the waters, for thou shalt find it after many days and bring one-tenth of your income into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this way,” says the Lord of Armies. “See if I won’t open the windows of heaven for you and flood you with blessings.”

These are some of the Biblical quotations that have inspired and generated a chain of fake pastors, churches, prophets and bishops, deceiving the people continually around the world.

Has God’s house becomes a den of thieves, criminals, cheats, adulterers, fornicators and lairs in Ghana? Ghana is known to be one of the most peaceful and God loving countries in West Africa, with a number of mosques and churches. But the sudden rapid increase of mushroom churches through out the nation, demands if the church truly cares about the poor, the afflicted and those with diverse problems or an institution of profit oriented business.

In my recent visit to Ghana, there is no place I freely passed, without seeing an advert or post boards of pastors, bishops and prophets, which reminded me of one of the prophesies of Jesus Christ: “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:4-5, King James Version.

Among a multitude of pastors in Ghana, is one called ‘Bishop’ Daniel Obinim, who claims has powers to heal and heads a church known as ‘International God’s Way Church. Ghanaians are very intelligent people, yet I couldn’t find the reason many people have lost their intelligence to follow someone called Daniel Obinim, even when he kowtowed so low to sleep with one of his associate pastor’s wives, one that claims of healing an impotent man by holding his penis and stomping a pregnant’s woman’s belly, during church service, talks of her wife’s vagina and involving in other deceitful acts.

What has happened to Ghana, this great nation? On the television, I couldn’t believe my ears, Obinim tells the congregation that he has powers to visit people in their dreams, when the great redeemer or messiah, Jesus Christ, who the storm obeys his voice, didn’t even visit any of his followers, whether dead or alive in their dreams.

It’s a fact that some people are using God’s name to steal, confuse, cheat and sleep with members of the church. Is Obinim one of them? Is Bishop and Prophet now titles everyone that claims serving God can confer on himself? The need to ask this question is necessary, because the prophets and bishops in Ghana are now too numerous to count, when the Bible gives reference to few people as major and minor prophets.

Jesus Christ suffered all kinds of persecution but never insulted or cursed anyone. He was oppressed and afflicted and like a lamb, he was led to the slaughter, without opening his mouth, yet Obinim who claims his powers were given to him by Jesus, on national television, insults and uses profane words on anyone that challenges his claims, including former head of state, John Jerry Rawlings. How can Ghanaians take such a person serious to generate such multitudes of followers? Something is wrong in Ghana.

Opinion

In the time of the apostles, there was a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people. When the apostles were being mistreated, he stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while.

He said to them, “Men of Israel, take care what you propose to do with these men. For some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a group of about four hundred men joined up with him. But he was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census and drew away some people after him; he too perished, and all those who followed him were scattered.”

“Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great; and they all, from smallest to greatest, were giving attention to him, saying, “This man is what is called the Great Power of God.” Unfortunately, he also perished.

Standing on Gamaliel’s words, if Daniel Obinim claims that his powers were from God or Jesus, then he will surely survive, but if they are demonic, magic, occultism or voodoo, then Ghanaians will live to see the painful and disgraceful end of all fake pastors, for misusing God’s name to exploit their ignorant followers.

Don’t Underestimate Prophecies In The Holy Bible: They Are Not Mere Stories

Anti-Christ forces against Christians

The persecution of Christians has increased in many countries including China

We are in an era many feel embarrassed or overpowered by shyness to speak about the Holy Bible. Once people begin to talk about the scriptures, they are seen by non-believers as those losing their mind. To be a Christian is not by force and it is not by force either for a Christian to convert to Islam.

You can be an atheist, no one cares, but woe unto the atheist who tries to take God’s children and believers to the path of destruction. And woe unto Muslims that kill Christians and say they are doing it for Allah because true God has no pleasure in wickedness.

The reason when Jesus sent out his twelve disciples he told “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.” Many ignore the prophecies in the Bible, because they are spiritually blind and deaf, to hear and see the fulfillment of the scriptures taking place around the world today.

Jesus said, “They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” Luke 5: 53.

“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.” Matthew 10:21-23.

Those who have eyes can clearly see and those who have ears can clearly hear that all the prophecies in the Bible are gradually taking place. Christians are now being slaughtered like cows and those respondents say they are doing it for Allah, because ‘Allahu Akbar’-God is great. Give me a break, if the God you are worshiping is great, let that great God take his own actions. No one fights or kills for a great God, but only a weak God.

Domestic violence erupting daily as daughters fight against mothers and sons against fathers. There is no peace because everyone thinks he is right to do whatever is bad. The greed for money has increased violence and crime at every corner of the globe.

My father’s house of worship has become the den of thieves or drinking pubs, as churches are being converted to drinking place. Husband kills wife and wife kill husband for life insurance money. Father kills the baby and mother kill a baby. What a world of confusion enveloped by spiritual darkness?

Jesus spoke about love 13 times some of these occurrences are parallel scriptures such as someone asking Him what the greatest commandment of all. He preached some 190 times on hell, repentance, and judgment. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.

It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. Featured Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.

10 Reasons Racism Has Never Been An Issue Of Concern To Me

All we need is love

Love conquers everything, so that’s what we need for a healthy society.

Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics. Racial separatism is the belief, most of the time based on racism, that different races should remain segregated and apart from one another.

This evil ideology or belief has caused bloodshed, unrest, and death in our society and still continue to tear our society apart today. Churches and organizations continue to discourage racism and strengthen relationships without success. In the world of racism, the Black man is the one that suffers most and being discriminated against, yet no one wants to be called a racist. Below are ten reasons I don’t care much about racism, even though I feel sorry for victims of racism.

  1. Racism is a chronic incurable disease, which can’t be cured or eliminated but can be reduced.
  2. Tribalism is a form of racism in Africa, the reason in Nigeria, the Yoruba hates the Ebo.
  3. In Ghana, the Gas hates the Fantes.
  4. In Sierra Leone, the Mende hates the Temni.
  5. In America, African-Americans draw guns at each other, killing and slashing their own brothers’ throat.  Why do they complain about racism, when they hate themselves?
  6. Head of churches and government officials secretly support racism.
  7. In Rwanda, the Hutu hates Tutsi.
  8. The black man has completely lost his identity through slavery. That identity can never be recovered.
  9. Many African-Americans have neglected Africa and even hate to be referred to as Africans. Being proud of where they came from and showing love, will give them the love and respect they deserve. Above all, there are black racists too.
  10. Children are not born racists. Adults continue to teach them at home and in schools, so racism will never come to an end.

Taking the above reasons into consideration, it is a total waste of time to spend hours worrying about racism or an incurable disease. I think this is the reason Sebb Blatter said, racism in football should be ignored and settled with a handshake.

Where Is Clarence Williams III, After The Moud Sqaud?: The Influence of Television Films In Africa

Clarence 4

The Mod Squad, featuring Michael Cole, Clarence Williams III and Peggy Lipton, played a significant role in the entertainment scene in Ghana.

It is often said that Africa is a continent plagued by war, conflict, poverty and diseases, but the discipline, endurance and the survival on that harsh continent, which have never been the pride of the foreign media, could have been very good education for the advanced world, including Europe and America, to stand stress, frustration and other life turmoils.

Africans are tough, immune to suffering and can adapt to every situation than Africans in the Diaspora and Europeans. Apart from the influence of the Bible, the role of churches and gospel music, television has played a significant role in entertainment history in Africa. The national coverage of television films from Ghana Broadcasting Corporation helped transformed Ghana.

Ghana was one of the happiest African countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa and still remains a peaceful and God fearing country. That doesn’t mean there is no crime. I remember in the early seventies, foreign television film inspired the first kidnapping story in the crime history of Ghana. Three young men made names for themselves and became fugitives when they kidnapped a car dealer’s son for ransom.

The entertainment scene in Ghana during the 6O’s and 70’s was amazing. Apart from Bonanza, featuring the Family Cartwright, Department ‘S’ featuring Peter Wyngarde and Joel Fabiani, Roger Moore as ‘The Saint,’ David Janssen as Richard Kimble in the fugitive etc; ‘The Mod Squad’ a group of two handsome men,  Clarence Williams III and Michael Cole and a pretty lady called Peggy Lipton, made some groundbreaking advancements in Ghana’s entertainment.

I missed those wonderful golden years; thanks to the birth of technology, making it possible to view those wonderful old television series today. Some of the great film stars may have gone or still living, but the role they played in Ghana’s entertainment and Africa generally shall never be forgotten.

Clarence Williams III today

One of my dreams is to see Europe and America media, lifting the image of Africa to educate Europeans and Americans on how Africans cope with all the hardships. Why many criticize about Africa’s weak educational system, yet teenage pregnancy, smoking and alcoholism are problems Britain and America are facing today? Why so much suicide in Europe and America than Africa? Because the life of Africans is much influenced by the gospel. Above all the entertainment scene from the sixties in Africa was a key to provide young children the experience, teaching, skills and the critical thinking to survive on that harsh continent.

Hollywood Found Religion: Actor Hugh Jackman Plays Apostle Paul In New Movie

Hugh Jackman will play the apostle Paul in a new film set to be the most high-profile Hollywood Christian production since Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, according to Deadline.

Apostle Paul follows recent faith-based films such as Do You Believe, Son of God and Heaven is for Real into cinemas. However, with Jackman in the lead as the follower of Jesus who was converted on the road to Damascus, not to mention Matt Damon and Ben Affleck taking producer roles, the project looks likely to have significantly more clout than previous efforts.

According to the Bible, Paul began life as a man named Saul of Tarsus but experienced a religious epiphany involving a great blinding white light from Jesus while travelling from Jerusalem to Damascus. He subsequently took a new name and founded several churches in Asia Minor and Europe, using his status as a Roman citizen and Jew to evangelise.

Jackman is a student of transcendental meditation rather than Christianity, having previously attended the international School of Practical Philosophy. But he told Parade magazine in 2009 that he was raised by his father, a devout, born-again Christian who took his young son to Billy Graham crusades whenever the famed evangelist came to Australia.

“He takes his religion very seriously and would prefer I go to church,” Jackman revealed. “We’ve had discussions about our separate beliefs. I just find the evangelical church too, well, restrictive. But the School of Practical Philosophy is non-confrontational. We believe there are many forms of scripture. What is true is true and will never change, whether it’s in the Bible or in Shakespeare. It’s about oneness. Its basic philosophy is that if the Buddha and Krishna and Jesus were all at a dinner table together, they wouldn’t be arguing. There is an essential truth. And we are limitless.”

Affleck and Damon would also appear, at first glance, to be unusual backers for a faith-based film. The pair angered some Christians after appearing as fallen angels Bartleby and Loki in Kevin Smith’s 1999 film Dogma, a satire on Catholicism which was labelled blasphemy by the US Catholic League.

Apostle Paul has been depicted on screen myriad times, notably by Harry Dean Stanton in Martin Scorsese’s controversial 1988 film The Last Temptation of Christ.

Did Jesus Christ Really Die On The Cross?

On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. According to Scriptures, Jesus  resurrected from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. The story of the coming of the Messiah to earth is genuine, as prophesied years ago, by some prophets, but did the Saviour really died on the cross?

Cross

Even though the cross is loved and respected by thousands of Christians worldwide, true Christians are far away from the cross and have nothing to do with it. How can that be? One significant reason is Jesus didn’t die on the cross. The Greek translates ‘Cross’ – ‘Stau-ros’. This means that an upright pole or stake. The Companion Bible states that ‘Stau-ros’ never means two pieces of wood or timber placed across one another at any angle.

Hermann Fulda’s book ‘The Cross and the Crucifixion’ states that Trees weren’t available everywhere at the public places chosen for execution, so a single beam was sunk into the ground. On this beam, outlaws hands are raised and often with the feet are bound or nailed. To confirm the truth that Jesus didn’t die on the cross, the Apostle Paul said:

Christ by purchase released us from the curse of the law, by becoming cursed instead of us, because it is written “Accursed is every man hanged upon a stake (tree-King James Version)” Galatians 3:13. At Deuteronomy 21:22, Paul’s quote clearly refers to a stake, not a cross. Since anyone who dies on a pole, beam, stick, wood, tree etc; is cursed, it wouldn’t be appropriate for Christians or churches to decorate walls or homes with cross symbols.

The New Catholic Encyclopedia admits, the cross is found in both pre-Christian and non-Christian cultures. It was rather linked to pagan sex rites. Above all, the scriptures also warn against all kinds of idolatry. (Exodus 20:4, 5; 1 Corinthians 10:14) With such good reasons, true Christians don’t use the cross in worship.  One of those churches which have nothing to do with the cross is ‘The Jehovah Witness.’

If Churches Are Being Converted To Drinking Pubs, Then Let Muslims Build Their Mosques

Church conversion in Britain to beer parlours

An English church converted to drinking pub, whilst the government spends millions of pounds fighting against teenage pregnancy and alcoholism.

The whole world is complaining and protesting against the building of mosques in Europe and America because they think it’s one of the measures to prevent Muslims from dominating mankind.  However, if we live in a world of few Christians and millions of atheists, putting down a church or converting a church to a drinking pub, is a grave mistake. Islam is a religion that reveres Allah, thus; there is no Islamic country that would convert a mosque to a drinking pub. This is what everyone should know.

The church is the temple of God, where devoted Christians and those who believe in God often worship, besides the church serves many purposes by playing an important role in the society. Even though not everyone believes in the existence of God, the church has transformed and changed millions of lives in our society today.

I quite understand when Jesus couldn’t control his anger when he entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves because his father’s house of worship has become a den of thieves and gamblers.  Matthew 21:12.

Alcoholism and teenage pregnancy

Britain booms with teenage pregnancy: 14-year-old pregnant schoolgirl.

Jesus did that because the temple must be kept holy and not a place for undesired purposes. In such a crucial period whereby the youths want to experience the freedom the world offers, which has led to the increase of crime, immorality, drinking, drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, and suicide, conversion of churches to drinking pubs, should have been discouraged by any serious and intelligent leader who appreciates and cares about human life.

How can leaders and heads of churches continue to disrespect God, by converting churches to drinking pubs, when they are desperately fighting to save teenagers from alcoholism, drug abuse, and suicides? Looking for a church to worship God in any European country I visited, was one of my priorities because it is not only the body that needs food but the spirit as well. This the secret to the peaceful and happy life in Africa, in the midst of poverty and diseases.

The Buddhist, Monks and those following Yoga activities, will explain the reason one needs spiritual food, sometimes leading to the search of spiritual food, instead of material things. Churches in Europe have the best architectural designs and interior decoration, but many times they are completely empty. One only sees people in the church when there is marriage or the coffin of the dead to receive his or her last prayers.

Alcoholism and teenage pregnancy

Teenage drinking is one of the social problems costing Britain a fortune.

Despite the countless roles of the church in the community, including the support of families, providing moral foundation and community awareness necessary for the success of the community, leaders continue to mess the society with vain selfish political ideas. I don’t blame Muslims requesting to build mosques, because they have seen the weakness and the stupidity of such leaders, by continuing defiling God, inviting teenagers to succumb to drugs and immorality.

In Hungary sold consecrated church now serves as a night and stripping club, while others are been demolished. Apart from the conversion of churches to drinking pubs in Britain, certain churches have been turned into mosques, while in Cyprus the former St Nicholas Cathedral is now the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque.

In the Netherlands, award-winning architects recently turned a former Dominican church in Maastricht into a bookshop, with a reading area and Café in the apse. We shouldn’t expect the world to be a better place in this condition and we shouldn’t expect our children to abstain from morally and destructive activities because that’s what politicians, some parents and some head of churches gone astray, have planted.
