Does A Good Article Help To Increase Your Twitter Followers?

I don’t have much Twitter followers. Like many others, I’m not interested in buying any fake followers. The reason since I officially joined Twitter on July 2011, the growing of my followers has been very slow with only 1,400 followers.

I’m very proud of all my followers, from all walks of life, including the great writer Joel Friedlander, CNN’s Jim Clancy, Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Her Majesty Koningin Mathilde (The Queen of Belgium.)

The landscape of the media is gradually changing, as the reading standard on social platforms gradually declines too. I have written hundreds of articles, but none has proved to be a masterpiece to me, until January 28, 2016 after posting an article captioned

“Spend Your Money On Bread And Water Not Sickness”

https://joelsavage1.wordpress.com/2016/01/28/spend-your-money-on-bread-and-water-not-sickness/

It seems the article caught the attention of the right readers at the right time. It suddenly generated Tweets, followed by re-tweets, on and on, increasing my Twitter followers significantly from 1,400 to 2,000. I followed everyone that follows me, because that’s the only way to thank them and show my appreciation.

Writing is creative and interesting, yet very tough. I am therefore glad to see the progress of what I do in different ways.

10 Powerful Proverbs Of Admonition

Bird

The bird just finished eating. Filled up, he flies up the tree and begins to sing praises to his creator for providing him food, nest and protecting him from rain, storm, and thunder. Yet the bird doesn’t know that underneath the tree, comes his enemy, the hunter, ready to shoot for his afternoon meal.

This is exactly how life on earth is when you don’t know your enemy. You may put a smile on your face every day, be kind and respectful to others, provide your family needs and be helpful when the needs arise, yet you’ve got an enemy you don’t know. Thus, be always conscious, watchful and careful where ever you step, so that you may live a happy life.

Here are 10 powerful and inspiring proverbs one should always keep in mind:

  1. Do not enter the path of the wicked and do not walk in the way of evil men.

2. Know this: People feed themselves with the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.

3. The way of the wicked is like darkness, they do not know what makes them stumble.

4. Only fools despise wisdom and discipline.

5. My son, if sinners try to entice you, do not consent.

6. For because of a prostitute, a man is reduced to a loaf of bread, but the wife of another man preys on a precious life.

7. Say to wisdom “You are my sister and call understanding my relative.”

8. Whoever says to the wicked one “You’re righteous,” will be cursed by the people and denounced by the nations.

9. People will kiss the lips of the one replying honestly.

10. Do not boast about tomorrow, for you don’t know a day will bring.

Selected from the book of Proverbs of Solomon, the son of David and the king of Israel. There are hundreds of readers interested in religious articles like me, the reason I love Biblical articles.

There are more soul-uplifting and spiritual feeding articles in the Bible to read.

Is Ghana’s Obinim Among The Many False Prophets That Will Arise and Deceive People?

Obinim 4The founder of International God’s Way Church, Daniel Obinim, claims has powers to heal.

“Cast thy bread upon the waters, for thou shalt find it after many days and bring one-tenth of your income into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this way,” says the Lord of Armies. “See if I won’t open the windows of heaven for you and flood you with blessings.”

These are some of the Biblical quotations that have inspired and generated a chain of fake pastors, churches, prophets and bishops, deceiving the people continually around the world.

Has God’s house becomes a den of thieves, criminals, cheats, adulterers, fornicators and lairs in Ghana? Ghana is known to be one of the most peaceful and God loving countries in West Africa, with a number of mosques and churches. But the sudden rapid increase of mushroom churches through out the nation, demands if the church truly cares about the poor, the afflicted and those with diverse problems or an institution of profit oriented business.

In my recent visit to Ghana, there is no place I freely passed, without seeing an advert or post boards of pastors, bishops and prophets, which reminded me of one of the prophesies of Jesus Christ: “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:4-5, King James Version.

Among a multitude of pastors in Ghana, is one called ‘Bishop’ Daniel Obinim, who claims has powers to heal and heads a church known as ‘International God’s Way Church. Ghanaians are very intelligent people, yet I couldn’t find the reason many people have lost their intelligence to follow someone called Daniel Obinim, even when he kowtowed so low to sleep with one of his associate pastor’s wives, one that claims of healing an impotent man by holding his penis and stomping a pregnant’s woman’s belly, during church service, talks of her wife’s vagina and involving in other deceitful acts.

What has happened to Ghana, this great nation? On the television, I couldn’t believe my ears, Obinim tells the congregation that he has powers to visit people in their dreams, when the great redeemer or messiah, Jesus Christ, who the storm obeys his voice, didn’t even visit any of his followers, whether dead or alive in their dreams.

It’s a fact that some people are using God’s name to steal, confuse, cheat and sleep with members of the church. Is Obinim one of them? Is Bishop and Prophet now titles everyone that claims serving God can confer on himself? The need to ask this question is necessary, because the prophets and bishops in Ghana are now too numerous to count, when the Bible gives reference to few people as major and minor prophets.

Jesus Christ suffered all kinds of persecution but never insulted or cursed anyone. He was oppressed and afflicted and like a lamb, he was led to the slaughter, without opening his mouth, yet Obinim who claims his powers were given to him by Jesus, on national television, insults and uses profane words on anyone that challenges his claims, including former head of state, John Jerry Rawlings. How can Ghanaians take such a person serious to generate such multitudes of followers? Something is wrong in Ghana.

Opinion

In the time of the apostles, there was a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people. When the apostles were being mistreated, he stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while.

He said to them, “Men of Israel, take care what you propose to do with these men. For some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a group of about four hundred men joined up with him. But he was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census and drew away some people after him; he too perished, and all those who followed him were scattered.”

“Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great; and they all, from smallest to greatest, were giving attention to him, saying, “This man is what is called the Great Power of God.” Unfortunately, he also perished.

Standing on Gamaliel’s words, if Daniel Obinim claims that his powers were from God or Jesus, then he will surely survive, but if they are demonic, magic, occultism or voodoo, then Ghanaians will live to see the painful and disgraceful end of all fake pastors, for misusing God’s name to exploit their ignorant followers.

Why We Should Crave For Spiritual Things Than Material Things

Peace 3

Many dream of becoming a millionaire and they want it quick, because it is made to understand that without money or wealth, there wouldn’t be any success in life. Thus, the love for money and the chase for wealth go on without ceasing, bringing crime, greed, misery and death to our homes.

When the great teacher, Jesus Christ, was tempted by Satan, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’ Jesus’ answer indicates that human beings need also spiritual food.

What is spiritual food by the way? Just like we need physical food for physical strength, we need spiritual food for spiritual strength. Why spiritual strength necessary for man?  At every moment we need spiritual strength to fight bravely against fear, doubt, worry, jealousy and imperfection. Also spiritual strength helps us to endure daily trials and tribulations, without thinking of ending your life in the deepest crisis.

Evidently, there is no doubt that many people lack spiritual strength to fight some of these unseen forces and immoralities, drifting them into the tunnel of darkness. The Buddhist, Spiritual leaders and Yoga teachers, can tell you the significance of spirituality, because when we pray and meditate, we crave for spiritual things, by reading the scriptures, without much desire for material things. After all what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? We came with nothing into the world and we leave with nothing.

Spiritual strength is acquired through daily prayers and meditation. It gives one the ability to liberate himself and to manifest the Divine on earth.  Many rich people even though have thousands of friends, due to the lack of strength in the heart; they still feel lonely and insecure. It is very hard to forgive sometimes when someone hurts you, but we must try to forgive, because forgiveness brings unexpected showers of blessing.

I have said it over and over that ‘Whatever happens to me benefits me.’ Prayers, meditation, the lessons and whatever I’ve gone through in my life, have given me the knowledge and wisdom to raise a happy family, to avoid crime, being a drug addict or trafficker and keeping me from going to jail. This makes me feel like a millionaire even though I’ve no penny in my pocket.

African Children Exposed to Violence, Brutality and Victimization

Brutal 1

What a shame? A defenseless African child being beaten by ‘law enforcement’ agents

There are problems brewing in Africa against children, that need attention. Africa is not only known for its rich mineral resources but one of the brutal continents in the world. Lack of education and corruption have weakened the continent’s economic infrastructure without remedy. The result is often ethnic conflicts, political unrest, crime, and brutality against children.

If children are not forced into child labour and soldier, they become victims of political unrest and abuse.  It is estimated that tens of millions of children worldwide are street children, according to UNICEF. For example, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, over 100,000 homeless children can be found living on the streets.

Neglected, unwanted, abused and many as orphans, children get entangled in African conflicts they didn’t call for. They are beaten mercilessly by adults, while the so-called head of states, sit without any efforts to save or help the children, all because Africa’s politics is not for the people but for greed and corruption.

It’s normal for every country to have a leader, that’s the reason we have world leaders, but if one sees the problems children pass through in certain countries, including African countries, you may wonder if that country has a leader. Without proper care, many street children turn to glue sniffing, affecting their health badly, while many become juvenile criminals.

Years after independence, despite all the abundant resources, many African countries still wallow in poverty, feeding on a bread of sorrow. State funds are secretly deposited at Swiss banks, while the common Africans, including children, continue to suffer, due to poor educational and health facilities.

Deng Xiaoping

Deng Xiaoping, the ex-Chinese leader, once said “We should give Africa technological know-how, so that African governments can transform their resources on the spot and create jobs and markets for their people locally, regionally, at the continental level and internationally.

Africa must cease to be forever the provider of raw materials to other people. Africans must never sell their land. They should say no to land grabbing by big agro-business multinational companies that displace African natives.”

This great statement towards Africa’s development was made years back when China was crawling like a baby learning how to walk. Today China is rubbing shoulders with great countries including America and Japan, leaving Africa far behind.

If Africa can’t do it today, they can never do it tomorrow, because, for ages, we are like fools, living in abundance of water, yet we are still thirsty.

Failure Is A Lesson That Encourages And Improves The Quality Of Life

Life is precious than silver and gold

Having faith in God builds one strong to avoid depression, loneliness and the tendencies of suicidal

I have heard many times that ‘Failure is not an option.’ Does it mean that we have to be perfect and successful in whatever we want to achieve in life? How can that be possible? Because since we are human beings and imperfect, we shall continue to experience many setbacks, including failure and disappointment in daily in our lives.

In relationships, careers and businesses, we are all bound to suffer certain problems. The question is, how do we handle or take it personally when we encounter such painful defeats and failures? I have seen it sports, tournaments and in certain fields of activities, participants emotionally and psychologically break down in distress, because they failed to achieve what they aimed at.

Life isn’t an easy journey if you want to achieve something genuinely. Many like to avoid life pitfalls or turmoil, by choosing a wrong path or shortcut. You can see them driving expensive cars and dwelling in beautiful mansions, but you don’t know what they do for the living.

When you see them like that, many wish they are one of them, but be careful to wish you are someone until you read the front page of newspapers that the person you wished to be, has been arrested at one of the international airports, in possession of heroin or cocaine. Would you like your life to end up in this way, because you wanted to avoid life’s failures and disappointments?

The world is full of great people; sometimes your eyes will be filled with tears, when you read their autobiographies to know what they went through before achieving success. In life, failure or disappointment teaches one to be perfect. It worth therefore to see failure as one of the life’s tools which educate and shapes life in a positive way.

My passion to be a writer was easier in Africa than Europe, yet when I was in Africa, I thought Europe will be the right place for me to achieve my aims and objectives. Once in Antwerp, Belgium, I tried to raise a fund to enhance the publication of one of my books. It turns out to be one of the biggest failures in my life.

I couldn’t raise a cent, but this embarrassment wasn’t only what happened. I became a laughing puppet at the school where I’m working. It became a talk of the town with gossips and laughter. Instead of being sad or depressed, I embraced and accepted it as one of the life’s challenges to continue writing without looking back.

People do things you may find it hard to believe. I don’t even think children will do what they did. The failure of the fundraising also taught me to be careful those I contact to demand bread. If one fails to accept failures and disappointments as instruments destined to educate and propel your career to the highest peak, you may end up at the psychiatry with depression or mental problems.
